Signal Park Rocker
Signal Park Rocker
2/10/2009

Graphics: awesome
Park Rocker - Definitely Got More Rocker than any other board
Terrain Use: Boxes and Rails
Pros: Durable, lightweight, Soft, Well known brand
Cons: Too soft, Doesn't perform, Sluggish
Other Thoughts: The Park Rocker has lots of Signal's positive attributes. Strong fast base, durable topsheet, solid construction and great graphics. The downside is the extreme amount or rocker limits this board to basically presses, butters, rails and not much else. If you spend all day in the rail garden, add this board to your quiver. Otherwise if you are looking for an all around board, consider their OG or Hammer or Park series instead. Not my cup of tea.

Signal OG Series
Signal OG Series

Graphics: sick
solid board, but a bit squirrelly
Terrain Use: Jumps, Boxes and Rails
Pros: Durable, lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Great value, Soft
Other Thoughts: Kudos to Signal for making a light board with a lot of pop using eco-friendly practices. The pop reminded me of a Burton Uninc (a real compliment in my book as the Uninc is one of my favorite boards). I think the board needs one more layer of fiberglass, perhaps some carbon or some other vibration absorption to cut the chatter. Hopefully this can be done without losing the light weight and that amazing pop. I'd say check it out if you are looking for a fun, low speed deck from a smaller, alternative snowboard company.

Graphics: ok
Award Nominations: Best Freestyle Board
Trice 09: it's bananas!
Terrain Use: Half Pipe, Jumps, Boxes and Rails, Speed, Powder, Carving, Backcountry, Groomers, All Mountain
Pros: Durable, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Popular model, Popular on mountain, Stiff, Well known brand
Cons: Heavy, Top sheet scratches
Other Thoughts: This board has a lot of hype and has won a lot of awards, which means it's probably already sold out. The addition of banana and a fast base really up the ante on this board from my POV. The combination of being stiffer board and a slightly less pronounced rocker allows you to ollie better than some of the other rockers (which has been an issue for me with rocker boards) and stomp some landings off-kelter easier. The downside is that it means you have to do a bit more work when buttering and playing around on flatland. I think if someone is looking for an all-rounder to take from Right to Left Coast with some stops in the middle, and the specs work for you, this would be a solid addition to the quiver or a great one-board stable.
