Burton CO2 EST
Burton CO2 EST

Fit: fits fine
Width: fits fine
Straps: super comfy
What else can be said - it's the C02
Terrain Use: Half Pipe, Jumps, Speed, Powder, Carving, Backcountry, Groomers, All Mountain
Pros: Easy in & out, Durable, Good construction quality, Lightweight, Comfortable, Well known brand, Popular model, Easy installation
Other Thoughts: What can be said that hasn't been said already. It's super lightweight, super reliable, hard charging c02. Demo'd this in march with a 2010 Supermodel in nice deep powder. Comfortable, easy to adjust, easy to get it set up the way you want it - just strap in and go. My only complaint with this binding - is on powder days I like to ride really big angles on my front foot. Like - +24 to +30. Problem is, with the EST / ICS it made it a little tricky. The only way I could get those kind of angles, is if the binding was pulled back towards the heel edge of the board. This meant my heel was hanging off one edge, while my toe was nowhere near the other edge. Far from an ideal setup. For typical stances this isn't an issue - and perhaps a different size binding would have made life easier - but this really presented some problems. I could either go with my normal stance - but now toe-side turns become difficult, or I could bring my stance in, which just feels un-natural. Can't really fault the binding or the design - it's just not quite as easy to set up if you're riding a more distinct stance then perhaps it should be. Again, could have simply been a sizing issue. I ended up finding a workable comprise after a couple of runs - and was pretty impressed with how they handled. Good response, super lightweight, gave you what felt like a good amount of power and stiffness - without some of the discomfort that can come with a powerful/stiff binding.

You forget they're there...
Terrain Use: Jumps, Speed, Groomers, All Mountain
Pros: Adjustability, Easy in & out, Boot hold, Good construction quality, Comfortable, Well known brand, Easy installation
Other Thoughts: I demo'd this binding in March at Sugarbowl (Tahoe). Paired it up with the CustomX in 156, JoyStick in 157 and the operator in 158 (i think). The thing I love about this binding, is you forget it's there. It provides a very natural and fluid feel to the board, and is very comfortable. There's enough response to work with a stiffer all mtn board like the CustomX, and soft and playful enough for a more freestyle oriented board like the Joystick. It does it all without sacrificing anything. By far one of my favorite bindings so far. While it may be billed as a freestyle killer - don't assume this binding is only at home in the park. My experience is it will work well just about anywhere you want to take it.

Burton Sup Birches Organic Short Sleeve

Super comfy, but snug fit.
Pros: Super soft, super comfortable, well made - dig the graphics.
Cons: Slim fit. Cut a little weird.
Other Thoughts: Really like this shirt, but it's cut a little slim. I normally wear a L t-shirt size, and it's just a little loose. With this shirt I ordered an L - and I wish I would have gone with an XL. It's still comfy, just a little snug. The organic cotton is super soft and light.
