We recently changed our POS system in store so it's a little more hands on for customers. After we ring them up, it's like a self checkout, where customers have the touch screen facing them & choose to put in their email, verify the price, & after they slide they card, they sign the screen with their finger instead of on the receipt or atm machine.

My favorite part of ringing people up is when they have to sign the screen. I get such varied reactions once they are told to sign the screen with their finger. Some people  say that we're  making them do all the work now, but most people just smile and say how cool it is. The signatures come out funny looking, like a little kid signed it, so a few people have just drawn pictures. I've see many smiley faces and even a palm tree!

I had a customer come in with his friend this morning and said that our new system is intense and it makes him want to buy something just so he can sign with his finger at the end of the checkout LOL

that screen is a kewl idea, i like it a lot since it saves some paper. But one thing, how often do u guys clean/sanitize that screen? I'll hate to wipe my finger on someone else grease. Especially when people come out of the restroom not washing their hands and using those same fingers to sign it. I used to work in a restaurant, I see all kind of nasty habits. Like the example above, but instead of signing the screen, they dig into the toothpick jar with those fingers. Nuke Plz sanitize the screen, cause i have a feeling i'll visiting soon.

caffeine- We would take pictures for you, but that would probably be a little creepy taking a picture of the screen as were ringing a customer up. haha

2zz-we clean/sanitize the screens quite frequently. Since the store is a big warehouse, it gets dusty really quick, so we wipe them down like everyday, so they will be nice and clean for when you come in and visit!

oi yea, I think I'm kind of a germ freak that would probably irk me hahaha.
Although its no worse than using a pen that a cashier gives you to sign with... everyone uses the same pen.

Sounds like a cool system though!
