Black Friday Sale-

Does any one know something about the Black Friday sale on sierra? did they have it previously?

Yes, they have had one in previous years. It gets a ton of traffic on the site and you feel like you are on dial-up again. Haven't heard if they are having one this year.

Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and we have made a lot of changes this summer to our site and servers to be ready so that we don't go back in time to dial up speeds.

hahahaha hopefully it will go well this year.. i remember it took a minute to load up a page last year.

crazy enough to skip waiting in line for the other black fridays. haha

Black friday = the day after thanksgiving. Most stores have big sales to kick off the christmas shopping season

25th to the 29th! no, no! this simply wont do at all!

In korea, today is national pocky day. Pocky, if you dont know is a thin pretzel like biscuit with chocolate on the outside. They celebrate this (and boy do they celebrate it) because the date is 11/11 and if you think about it 11 looks like 2 pockys next to each other. So 11/11 is FOUR pockys! wheee! Of course, pocky comes from japan, and the number 4 is closely associated with death (4 in japanese is shi and death in japanese is er, also shi) so theres no national pocky day there.

So i was thinking, if they can make crap up, then why cant sierra. I vote we have a sierra-saturday. And i think (coincidentally of course) it should be the 14th of November. And my reasoning for this is as follows:

The sierrascope was built in 152 and 156 sizes. But 154 needs some love too, and it just so happens that 11 times 14 (11 14 (saturdays date)) is exactly 154 which would have been the size i would be rocking if they had it.

As such i now proclaim 154 (or rather 11/14) to be sierra-saturday!

I think its because i wrote "make it happen" which makes you immediately think of picard saying "make it so!" which immediately conjures up a facepalm.

Black friday was the day after thanksgiving, from the 40's i believe. Cops coined the term, in reference to the horrible traffic and delays that always took place from people driving back to wherever they were from. I think it originated in PA, but i could be wrong. somewhere up in the northeast states.

I wonder if the Cyber Monday will be better sales than Black Friday

Friday should be the better sales.  They've anounced all the special giveaways, but haven't said anything about sales yet.
