yeah my mom and sister went to india last year and they said that a 4 lane freeway would be 7 lanes when there is traffic and everyone just continuously beeps their horn

I have actually witnessed a guy texting on his motorcycle, followed by him eating a granola bar he had in his pocket.  It was on a twisting road with no passing zones either, got stuck behind him for about five miles and was cringing at the thought of him heading into the other lane while he wasn't paying attention and getting mowed down.

You clearly have no idea how civilized driving in America is.  I've had and seen some hairy moments in California, but Korea, Thailand, Mexico, Greece, Italy, Spain, France... all absolutely shtooking nuts.

Case in point: there is a huge 9-lane roundabout surrounding the Arc du Triomphe in Paris.  A crowded 9-lane roundabout is to begin with absurdly difficult to navigate.  Factor in: A.) you can't really see the lane lines and B.) Parisians are self-absorbed douchebags, and voila...



Going around this thing in a taxi at night was confusing and frightening.  A friend of mine, instead of looking at the Arc (which is pretty damn impressive) instead sat down on a bench and stared at the traffic movements of the roundabout for about half an hour in a combination of bewilderment, awe, and fear.

Yea.  Allegedly if you cross it on foot and get hit by a car, insurance companies will tell you to screw off for being an idiot.

Those guys look like they have wheels on their sandals!! Haha...  I can't imagine that happening in North America.  Imagine if you got caught.  I wonder how much the ticket would be!

Not only is it lets kill 4 ppl in a car, but all the people standing next to the road too... theyre all watching and no one seems concerned that the car could hit them, and it does come close to the camera man at one point.

It's an interesting question.  It's kind of like from the Bay to LA... the difference isn't nearly as pronounced, but it's there.  Socal folks are more prone to douchey, dangerous behavior, but they also on the whole tend to be better drivers (better at anticipating traffic, getting up to full speed before merging onto highway, etc.).  I wonder if it goes to that extreme.

A friend of mine said he was behind a big tractor in eastern Oklahoma and it had the big sythes on the side. He saw a guy on a motorcycle coming up way too fast and the dude tried to lay down the bike at the last second, but went the same way as Henry VIII. Abe, the friend, said he didn't know the human body had that much blood in it.
