Hey everybody, I didn't notice a thread for Tyrol here in wisco, so I figured I'd start one.
I know they have $12 tuesdays, all day riding for 12 bucks? I don't think you could find a better deal anywhere! Once January rolls around I'm gonna try to be there every tuesday so I'll try to give a heads up on how the hills are for any of you who might board at tyrol as well. We're supposed to have tons of snow again this winter so good riding everybody! |

Sweet man well let me know how it goes if you make it up. I probably won't be able to get there for a while, but when I do I'll let you know how the place is set up and everything.

Tyrol is really a pretty good place. They have a good pipe and multiple parks. If you guys get a chance you should check it out sometime. I should be up there at the end of this month.

I was at tyrol last week, and it was pretty nice. I mainly ride at tyrol and dh, and i think tyrol's park set up is way better than dh's. they have a big kicker, a bunch of smaller kickers, multiple rails, some boxes, and other jib type features. also they have a beginners board park, which is nice if you wanna work on some stuff or you're new to jumps/rails/boxes!
about the only thing that was bad there was the line, it gets crowded from about 5-8 but that's expected with only one lift servicing the terrain. |

They only have one lift going at Tyrol? Or just one lift for the park area?

Nah just one in the park area. They only have three lifts, it's def. smaller than dh, but usually only the first lift that services the park gets crowded. If you want to just cruise down the runs the other two chairs are never very busy.
but then again this was on a tues, so i dunno about weekends. I have some friends going tonight, and i just checked the site and one of the chairs will be down until sunday... bummer for them. |

just wanted to say, i've been to tyrol, devil's head, afton alps, trollhaugen, and spirit mountain so far this winter. tyrol has by far had the best terrain set up. it's nice when you can go down the hill and hit at least 3 features everytime down.
nick (or anyone else) if you can manage to swing up there during the week sometime i'm sure you'll have the place to yourself, you'll have a blast. think i'm going again tues even though i shouldn't... |

It's probably the same distance as to cascade. I'm in madison, and tyrol is maybe 25 minutes away, cascade 30, and DH 45. Never been to granite before.
I haven't been to cascade this year, so i can't say what their set up is like. In previous years I've been to cascade and the park was pretty good... the only reason that i don't go there is because i'm broke and tyrol has $12 all day and DH has $14 nights. Tyrol also has a 2 for 1 coupon on their web page for mwrf, so if you can get their anytime during the week it's super cheap. As for the comparisons - Tyrol is way smaller. They only have 3 lifts (plus a couple tow ropes), and the main one (by the park) gets pretty crowded (on tues at least). The runs are shorter and not as steep, with the exception of some of the runs on the far side of the hill. However the reason I like it (besides $) is the park set up is really nice. I was going to try and list off all the features they have, but the do a pretty good job (w/ pics) here: http://tyrolbasin.com/terrain-report/. and here's a quick trail map to see that it's smaller: ![]() vs. ![]() basically if you want an all mountain ride cascade is probably better, but if you're in the mood for some intense park sessions you might want to check out tyrol. |

just checked the website, tyrol has all day $20 tickets for the rest of the year. I'm pretty sure its everyday of the week with tuesdays still only $12! heck of a deal for a pretty sweet park set-up!

I will most likely be at Tyrol on the 21st if they are still open. 99% sure I will be there and it will most likely be my last day of the season.

Yeah just saw that and that really sucks. I don't want to drive all the way to Devils Head. I guess it is Raging Buffalo this weekend. Damn it!

I wouldnt drive up there right now, they're not making any snow yet. But I've been there last winter and they had a nice terrain park, mini-halfpipe, slolom run plus the regular runs. I drove 8 hrs to get to it for a 3 day ride and it was well worth it. I'm going back this winter sometime.

Yeah Tyrol won't be open for at least a few more weeks. Once the season gets going it is not a bad place to ride.
