Hey!
thats brilliant news - as I was ringing up every day for about 2 weeks asking when it will be ready! superb! though I was wanting Burton board and bindings - how come they do not ship?? have they put a block on it to prevent UK shops from loosing business?? That sucks - now I have to decide on new kit....
Good work on setting it up though Sierra...

Hi Laurence,
Unfortunately Burton is extremely strict with their international shipping/selling guidelines and all US shops are not to ship/sell internationally at all. From all that I've heard, it is to help the local shops in foreign countries have a fighting chance to sell their product.

^^^^ I believe you can use your Visa Electron card. As long as the form of payment has a Visa, Mastercard, Amex, and Discover logo on it your card should be fine.
We do not accept credit transfers. |

hey!
Any aussies who have recieved goods from sierra.....
Can you please post the amount of import tax you had to pay for your purchase!!!???!!?
Would be good if ppl from different countries could post this info so the guys here at sierra could table it up to give ppl an approx price they would have to pay.... This would definetly help ppl make a more confident purchase! I would have already spent $600!!!!!!!
Is the customs tax a set rate or is it different for different items? ie. more for boards than for jackets?

Any one from Australia, if you're sharing an order with your friends BEWARE...if one of your selected items are out of stock, your other items will get shipped and you WONT HAVE A CHANCE to choose any replacement for that out of stock item. Its alright if you've ordered several items, but you and your mate buy a board each and your board is out of stock, before you know it, Sierra will have refunded your board and shipped your remaining order.
That leaves you without board and your friend to pay all the shipping fees you agreed to share? Either that or you pay half the shipping even though you receive nothing. Sierra doesn't have any policy in place whereby they notify you and ask if you want to proceed if they cancel your items. They dont even let you choose a replacement for out of stock items in your order. Think twice before ordering with a friend from Sierra
BEWARE OF SIERRAS OUT OF STOCK POLICY

Its not that you intentionally order out of stock items.
Its because at the time of your order the website has not been updated to SS stocks, or if someone else places an order for the last item a short time before you, and there is that period of time between when they put their order in and when it is actually processed and updated on their site.
In either case, its your bad if that happens. Whatever other items you happened to have ordered gets shipped and if you need to order a replacement for the out of stock item, you fork out the extras for a new separate order.

It depends on where your credit card is registered. If it's registered in Australia, then we could not send the order to Argentina due to security policies. And usually international orders take around 5-7 business days before they are delivered to you. |

hi,
Does your company internationally ship Burton products that are on SALE? As ive purchased snowboards from another online USA snowboard store, that have the same shipping restrictions with Burton etc products. But allow Burton to be shipped after the winter season and products have clearance sales. Just wondering if your company has the same policy. cheers From AUSTRALIA

Hi Skinny kp,
I read a bit further up about an aussie in argentina and the problems with sending products to him for security reasons due to his credit card being based here in Oz. I have mates in Canada, can I pay for the products from here and have them shipped to them as they are coming down to Australia in a month
Cheers

If you are using an international credit card to purchase, you may only ship to the billing address of that card. Your order would be sent to Australia since that is where your card is registered. |

When you purchase an order with an international credit card, we can only ship to your billing address due to security reasons. If you order a Burton product, we wouldn't be able to ship it out to you because your credit card is internationally registered, unfortunately.

Hey everyone! After reading all the posts about boarders not being able to buy Burton products, I figured I would explain how to get them. I am writing from Bongo International. We are an international aggregator. Basically, we will set you up with a US address so that you can buy ANY products (including Burton) from Sierra.
You give them your US address when you check out (instead of your international address). Once Bongo receives your goods, we can automatically forward them to you OR we can hold them and consolidate them with any other purchases you want to make in the US.
The concept is simple. Take a look at the site at http://www.BongoUS.com and feel free to post your comments and experiences on this forum. I know we already have some customers from Australia that have tried it and loved it. Please let me know if you any of you have any questions about the process. Add me to your buddy list and send me a message. Good luck and happy boarding!

This bongo thing seemed like a decent idea until I saw the shipping cost of a 6lb package to the UK, which is what my board package weighed.
$90

i'm gonna agree. This bongo seems expensive to me. I tried shipping a board to canada & it cost a little more than $20 (max $25). A 7 lb board on bongo is $60. Seems like around a 2-3 time mark up from actual shipping costs?
I think people are better off finding other means (ie friends/family) to get stuff shipped if they can.
anyways, my opinion.

Nobody's telling you guys to use them, they're just offering the service if you're stuck on getting Burton or Ride gear. Someone who wants a particular product will be more than happy to have a way to get the gear they were hoping to purchase.

At first, it may look high, but you have to consider what it is. These shipments are sent DHL Express (Avg of a 2 day transit to UK and 1-2 days to Canada). The shipments are not sent through the post office or some other deferred service. The cost through DHL to ship a 7lb shipment to the UK is $106.60 plus a fuel surcharge of $31.98. Therefore, the total DHL cost is $138.58. Bongo's rates are over 53% off the DHL published rates. That same shipment is only $63.96 through Bongo.
Additionally is the value you gain when you consolidate. For example: if you purchased a stereo system from bestbuy.com and it weighed another 7lbs, you would only be paying $89.82 for the two shipments (7lbs + 7lbs=14lbs). Shipped seperately from each vendor would cost you over $150 (assuming each company gave you comparable discounts).
The true benefit to the service is the ability to buy Burton products, as well as the ability to save money by consolidating other purchases you make in the US into one shipment. It also enables customers to buy from Sierra that live in countries Sierra doesn't ship to.
Christmas is a perfect example of when our service will really help. During this time, international consumers are going to want to make multiple purchases from multiple vendors in the US. With a US address, you will have the ability to buy from many companies and put the shipments together into one package before shipping internationally. This will save you hundreds...possibly thousands of dollars.

um..a little strange that people have been asking to ship to non-billing address for a while & all of a sudden bongo comes along & within a day the website's being revamped...anyways this isn't a new idea & i've seen other forwarding services mentioned on the chat here before (just alot of people couldn't use them because of the billing/shipping address issue). So, now that you can ship to non-billing address...maybe it's fair for people to check out other forwarding services that have floated around the chat, which from the sounds of it might be cheaper than bongo. Same concept, US address, consolidate your items, forward to you, choose your carrier (sounds like bongo is DHL only)... I haven't used yet, but maybe people can post their experiences with bonogo or any of these services &/or the breakdwon of the costs (plus extra duties & taxes in their country). that would be helpful. So please post your experiences!! And make sure you find out about every little charge/costs to expect. (search around..you'll find a few reviews of these forwarding services) www.forwardit.us/ http://www.packageexpress.com/ found a site that lists a bunch more:

I am sure most people realize that there are many companies that provide similar services to ours. However, we strongly believe that we provide the most value in the industry. Here are some of our value adds compared to our competition...
1) Consolidation - We offer free consolidation. You can make purchases from as any US retailers with no limit on the number of items you can buy. We will put all items into one shipment for you free of charge. This saves our customers hundreds of dollars!
2) Customer Service - We are one of the only parcel forwarding companies that operates a live chat, answers the phone, and responds to all messages within 24 hours. Therefore, you always have multiple ways to communicate with us.
3) Tracking - We proactively monitor every shipment that leaves our door. This allows us to ensure delivery of your goods without you having to worry about it.
4) Inventory Management - We are the only company (to our knowledge) that processes every item into your inventory. This allows you to see exactly what items have been received. Most of our competition would only tell you that you received a shipment from the vendor. They don't list what was inside.
5) Photographs - We offer our customers the ability to "see" their items before they decide to have them shipped internationally. Concerned about the color, size, or shape of something? For only $0.50, you can request an image of any item in our inventory
6) Price - We have one of the most competitive prices in the industry. Many of our competitor will ship through the USPS rather than a common carrier like UPS, FedEx, or DHL. Unfortunately, the USPS does not allow for items the size of snowboards. Our rates are over 50% off DHL International rates.
7) Transit - We know you want your purchases fast. That is why our transit averages 2-4 days from our warehouse. We are sure there are ways to get ocean delivery and other options that will take 5-10 days or more. That just isn't our business.
I hope this helps everyone to understand some of the values we offer. Please feel free to reach out to us for any additional questions.

Binding boxes are rather large. Therefore, they will experience dimensional weight. I would say that a good average would be 11-12lbs. You can go to http://www.bongous.com/shipping_cost_calculator.php in order to review the rates to Russia.

I have a question about using Bongo's address to make order.
SierraSnowboard said only ship to billing address for international orders before.
"Unfortunately, we can only ship to billing for international orders for security reasons. "
Bongo's address is not my billing address for sure.
Is this policy already cancelled?!
Can we make our order ship to my US friends address?!
If only Bongo have SPECIAL Rights to do that, it is not fair to all other business competitor, is that legal ?!

Hey Edmund,
In order to be able to ship to Bongo, you would need to set up an account with them. Their address has already been verified with our company, which is why we would be able to ship your order there. Our international policy is still in effect, we can not ship to your friend's address in the US for security reasons. |

Chilli Palmer, I can not guarantee that you will get approved by Bongo, but you can try to sign up with us and we will review your details. If we are able to approve you, then you would be able to buy from Sierra and ship domestically to our warehouse. We would then be able to forward the goods to you in Argentina.

All you have to do is go to http://www.BongoUS.com and sign up for a US address. There is an activation process (a form you need to fill out with copies of your ID).
Here is an earlier post I put up... "I am going to list these as steps so that it is very easy to follow. 1) Go to http://www.BongoUS.com
and read through the FAQ's. Familiarize yourself with the service and
feel free to use the Live Chat function to ask questions.
2) Sign up with Bongo International using your credit card
3) There will be a form to fill out to allow Bongo to be your
mail forwarding agent. They will email you the form already filled
out. All you need to do is print it, sign it, and upload it through
the link they provide to you.
4) You now have your own US address. Log into your account and
click on "My Account." You will see an address that looks like this...
955 Connecticut Ave
Suite 4104B-B2-B1111
Bridgeport, CT 06607
5) Now that you have your address, you can go back to
Sierrasnowboard.com and purchase any items you wish to ship to your
address. Remember that you want to put your new US address as your
"shipping address" within the site.
6) Sierra Snowboard will fulfill your order and ship the goods domestically.
7) Bongo will receive your items, inspect them, and update them
into your inventory (as a subscription member). If you are a Pay Per
Use member, they will automatically forward the items to you. You can
see the Bongo Rates here
It's that simple. Once you have your US address with Bongo, you
will never have to go through the process again. You will be able to
buy goods from Sierra as well as any other online retail stores in the
US! The more locations you buy from, the more money you will save.

That is a great question. Here are some averages based on some of the information we have gathered from Sierra. Please note that these are not exact as each brand can vary and each box can be slightly different...
Carriers charge the greater of the actual weight or the dimensional weight. Many of the Sierra products are oversized boxes and are therefore charged at the dimensional weight. Here are some common examples. You can determine this amount by taking the dimensions of the manufactuer's packaging and applying this formula.. LxWxH/166 Here are your examples. Snowboard Bindings
7lbs 16x14x8 - Billable Weight = 11lbs Snowboard
6lbs 64x14x2 - Billable Weight = 7 - 11lbs (depending on size) Ski boots 12lbs 24x19x6 - Billable Weight = 17lbs Genya, based on these numbers, your order of bindings and boots would be a total billable weight of 23lbs. Shipped to Russia, the price would be $291.84 as a subscription member. |

In many cases, this is correct. As a US consumer, you are able to take advantage of the weak US dollar. Typically the board will be less if you buy it in the states and pay for the shipping. This is especially the case when you make multiple purchases in the US and consolidate the orders together. The more items, the lower the shipping cost per item. |
