VA riders

I go to JMU in Harrisonburg, Massanutten is only 20 minutes away so it's good enough.  I've also gone to Wintergreen.  This year I plan on hitting up Snowshoe a few weekends and heading up to Canada in december.  Wintergreen isn't that much better than Massanutten, just more slopes but some conditions.  Still got a long way to go before winter.

From what I hear whitetail is doing alot more upgrades this summer for the coming winter they dont have the difficulty i crae but they seem to put more work in than the other resorts in my area aka massofnuthing aka massanutten...

hey if anyone still checks this trying to find some info on the terrien garden they are or were going to put in at or near liberty college.  If anyone has some info on it let me know.

that might just be a rumor.  indoor resorts are mostly overseas like in Japan or the Netherlands.

i know there are plans for an indoor resort in Mississippi and Vegas but the designs are still in the works.

they had the same plans of the indoor park out here for vegas...

Who here is getting the snowboard pass for whitetail/roundtop/liberty?

I'm in richmond and Snowshoe is definately my favorite resort close. I've also been to timerline and that is probably my second fav. i have a pass to wintergreen because that's one of the closest and i usually just go up for a couple hours after school. Nothing here can even compare to Tahoe though=/

Which resorts will you guys be hitting up first as soon as this years season starts?!?!?

as always... try to hit Snowshoe or wisp...
then when whitetail opens, i will be there

Intrawest owns the mountain and everything on it, so you'd likely be best off staying at one of the resorts at the top of the mountain. Yo can get units with hot tubs and a few rooms too, but remember it is not cheap.

The best time to go is during the week since it's cheaper and less crowded by far. I went at the end of January on Sun-Tues and it was $75/night per person including lift tickets at the Inn. It's normally $75/day for lift tickets, so we got the room for free. I did call 2 days before we went, but there was a huge storm that we drove through which was a nightmare since that was the 1st time I'd ever seen snow :lol: 

hows jay peak really wanna go wheres the best place to stay preferbally slopeside and cheap as small and cheap as possible

Most of the WNC resorts are opening in November, and Cataloochee almost opened on Monday but the weather overnight didn't cooperate.

does anyone know when 7springs and Massanutten are planning to open?

I just moved to VA from the west coast and was looking for some people to ride with at Massanutten, I had a season pass last year to Snowshoe but am getting one for Massanutten this year. Hit me up if you want to ride

Snowshoe Is planning on opening on the 24 of November.

I thought the roads leading to/from Snowshoe were great, but I went up I77 to I79 from NC. Lots of fun twisties :D

im hoping soon.  ive been itching to ride and truly envious of west coast people.  Im checking the cams and reports everyday, JUST to see if they started making snow.  its been a huge disappointment.

It should drop with highs in 30's and lows in teens Thanksgiving weekend in WV, VA and WNC.

^ and I thought all this time that Snowshoe was to open Thanksgiving weekend.  I guess it will be another warm season in the East coast
