Rome Snowboard Design Syndicate (Rome SDS) based in Waterbury, VT was founded in 2001 by Josh Reid and Paul Maravetz. The two industry veterans had previously worked for Burton in marketing and product development. Since then, Reid and Maravetz have built Rome into one of the most progressive and reputable snowboard brands featuring design-driven snowboard gear that is all about creativity and individuality. Rome SDS's mission is to bring together snowboarders of all types - team riders, product designers, dealers, 100-day-a-year-locals - to create a rider focused brand. Rome SDS snowboards have won widespread industry acclaim and have garnered numerous awards since their introduction. Among its best selling snowboards are the Agent, Artifact, Anthem, and Design. Rome has since expanded its product line to include apparel, gloves, bags, bindings, and boots. Rome pro-team riders include Bjorn Leines, Jesse Fox, Max Legend, Marie-France Roy, Casey Neefus, Jonaven Moore and Marius Otterstad.
