Jim's Review: Fuego means "Fire" and that is an apt description for this Attiva version of the unisex Tigershark 10 footer. This is a pretty firm and agressive ski for the woman with some speed on her agenda. This generation of skis replaces the Supersport lineup of mostly on trail carvers. The extra width helps the versatility without sacrificing much in the way of grip. When Katie and I tested this ski, we were both amazed at the phenomenal grip and stability. On one stretch, the snow went from good groomed to scraped off and slickery in the space of a few turns and the Fuego handled both conditions without a hitch. In softer snow this ski is a slasher rather than a floater so it punches through crud with ease but is not a great powder tool. Like most Volkls, the Fuego leans a little more to the energetic feel rather than damp and smooth. This is not a ski for a developing skier. Some pretty good game is required to get the most out of it.


Dennis says: Volkl?s Attiva Fuego is made for the woman who wants to have the feel of a Porsche under her feet. The Attiva Fuego goes from zero to mach schnell in a matter of seconds. It has Volkl?s legendary grip and stability. After the groomers get chewed up, the 73 millimeter waist will give the skier the wider platform to ride right through it. Most women will choose the 154. Petite women would opt for the 149. Stronger women would opt for the 163.
