Last year, the Salomon Falcon 10 was a big hit for us. It is targeted as an expert level boot for all mountain skiing. The Falcon 10's Advanced Shell Technology, simply put, transmits energy more efficiently from foot to ski for better edge sets. The My Custom Fit liner is the same one used in the Falcon Race. If one wants a boot to make one's skis more responsive, the Falcon 10 is it! What I liked best is the flex. It wasn't too stiff which is great for someone who wants plenty of forward shock absorption. Laterally, the boot is a rock. Flex rating: 110.

I deal with a lot of weekend beer league racers. Many of them don't want to deal with the race fit boots because they are painful and cold. With a Falcon 10, one can have a great all mountain fitting boot that can rip up a race course.

After trying on the Falcon 10, I realized the footshape that would match the boot the best is a lower volume one. The forefoot of the shell is cut at 98 mm, so a person with a narrow foot should rejoice. The instep felt medium to me. The heel felt low to medium.
