Sierra Says: The F20 has been a choice boot for a number of seasons. This can be attributed to its supportive, yet versatile construction, it snug, slightly narrow fit, or its lightning fast lacing system. This boot is lightweight and provides incredible heel hold. Also, with Fusion technology, the F20 has a reduced footprint which is especially useful for you in-betweeners (size 11-12). Overall, we recommend the F20 for any serious all-mountain rider with an average or narrow width foot.

"broken spines" 8/29/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Salomon F20 Select
  • Pros:  small footprint,
  • Cons:  the spines on the boots broke,
  • Fit:  soft
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  12
  • Boot Size:  12

Experience:   the boots are great, mostly except that i broke both of the spines at the back of the boots within about 2 weeks. if solomon made the spines a lot stronger then these would be great boots. i had the 2007 version of these as well and they lasted me over 150 days of working and riding with no problems.

"My third pair of Salomon Fusion boots, definitely put these on your short list!" 2/11/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Salomon F20 Select
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Heel hold, Comfortable, Easy lacing, Durable, Traction, Good quality, Well known brand, Popular model
  • Cons:  Not warm
  • Fit:  average

Experience:   I'm on my third pair of Salomon Fusion boots. First boot I ever got was an F24 and then went down to the F20 because I wasn't too keen on the stiffness. This is my second pair of the F20s because I messed up my current pair. Anyway, this boot is for those with average feet, will probably work for those with narrow feet too. My feet are slightly wide so sometimes I do feel a pinch. I kind of miss the previous speed lace systems, definitely lace up a little slower on these new boots, but I assume that I'll get faster at it over time.
