Sierra Says: Freestyle snowboarders know that they need a responsive but forgiving binding. You might ask, “isn’t that two conflicting ideas?”, and usually the answer is yes, but Rome has somehow done both with the 390. Maybe its the SF Glass-filled base plate or the UnderWrap 2 Heel Loop. I don’t know, but what I do know is the 390’s are amazing.

Rome Says: A merger of SDS technology and freestyle fun by the ton. Mid-flexing highbacks and super comfy gel-cushioned ankle straps provide an ample range of motion, while a megadose of Inbase padding dampens harsh landings so your feet can look for that next bomb drop. Toss in the coring of the highback and UnderWrap heelhoop and you have one of the lightest bindings on your local shop wall.

"Bindings? what bindings?" 10/4/2009
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Rome 390
  • Pros:  same as last model, adjustability, good even flex
  • Cons:  crappy paint job,

Experience:   These are honestly great bindings. I rode a friend's 09 390s' and they were strong and super durable. The toe strap set up was so impressive. The ankle straps are really comfy. The overall set up and feel, with its med and even flex was great. Lots of things to tinker with on these just like the targas. After i got it dialed perfectly, it felt as if i wasn't wearing any bindings at all. If you had to compare, I'd say these bindings fell between a pair of ride alphas, k2 auto, and ride contrabands. Now the only bad thing i'll have to say is that the paint job sucks. Not the design (the death of creativity model is uber sick!!!!). The paint on the bindings started cracking and flaking off. I could easily pick at it with my nail and after awhile ...it looked as if it was baking in the sun. Hopefully if was just mine that sucks cause i still want the death of creativity model, lol. I hope this helps.

  • Name: 2009 Rome 390
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Adjustability, Boot hold, Durable, Good construction quality, Comfortable, Easy installation
  • Cons:  Heavy
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   The 390s is without a doubt my favorite binding on the market. They are built to last and are extremely adjustable. One of my favorite features is that the toe strap doubles as a cap strap. Also Rome has covers for the mounting screws just to add a clean look to the base of the binding. On top of that, to protect your board from those unwanted binding marks, the 390s are equipped with a rubber pad to keep a firm grip on the board, provide protection, and reduce the wiggle if your binding becomes loose. Couple all this with Romes quality customer service and you have a product you cant refuse.

  • Name: 2010 Rome 390
  • Pros:  responsive, perfect fit toe strap, gel ankle strap
  • Cons:  heavy,

Experience:   This binding is AMAZINGLY responsive. I loved it in Pow! If you're into park, the metal combo may be too heavy for your tastes. But Free Ride or All Mountain, this binding is sick.

Experience:   The Adjustability, the comfort, and the cap strap are the greatest thinga bout this binding. I got the Limited David Bowe Edition and they are sparkly. One thing to note though is while ratcheting the ratchets can get caught under the strap cover.

Experience:   Bindings felt different. I normally use Ride Delta. Maybe I was used to it but the 390s not as responsive? Maybe my settings weren't optimal but I had a decent time with these. I'm not totally convinced to buy them but they were easy to get in and out of. The ratchets were excellent. Never had an easier time getting in and out of them from any of the bindings I've used.

Experience:   these bindings are actually not that bad, they hold up pretty well on every terrain i've thrown at it. my boot fits nice right in them. the graphic on it is pretty sick too. i've used rome bindings before, and they too were good, they help up nice and it's perfect for any rider. it's a decent buy and you will not be disappointed i promise you that.

  • Pros:  Adjustability, Easy in & out, Boot hold, Durable, Good construction quality, Lightweight, Comfortable, Well known brand, Popular model, Easy installation
  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   Best bindings I've ever owned! The bindings are super comfortable and light while being highly adjustable. The construction of the bindings are solid and made to last. With these bindings strapped in, I feel absolutely no pressure against my feet at either the toe or the ankle when properly adjusted. The bindings also include lots of padding so hard landings aren't so hard on your feet and knees. The Conformist strap doubles as a toe cap strap and as well as a regular toe strap so you can use it however you like. The bindings are also extremely easy to put on and get out of with the AutoStrap. To top it all off, the graphics are sick and it's really easy to adjust on the go without the need of tools!

Experience:   GREAT BINDINGS!!these bindings are amazing. the heel strap is super comfortable, even when fully strapped down you can barely feel it. the toe strap doubles as a toe cap. insane amount of adjustability on these, and they look great too. only possible thing i could complain about is the highback angle adjuster sometimes adjusts itself by accident.

  • Fit:  fits fine

Experience:   There's a reason these bindings are so popular... it has a great set of tech that will please 99% of snowboarders out there. The 09' has the autostrap which holds the ankle strap out of the way when it is released. It is comfortable. it is not as stiff as the targas or arsenals from what I have heard. Rome bindings are solid.

Experience:   I really enjoy these bindings and own the 09s. The major difference between the two is the ankle strap. The new model has the additional of gel and it more comfy in my opinion. If you find both and these are cheaper, buy the 08s. The bindings are solid and have a great flex for riding park. I'd consider them midflex not being that soft and would work well for groomers and basic riding. Ratchets works well and no complaints yet on these bindings.
