Superlight Flexible Power
The Design House delivers evolutions in lightness on the 390 once again in 2008. Upgrading to a new UnderWrap 2 Heel Hoop, 390-specific coring in the toe strap region of the heel hoop shaves ounces while powering heel side and toeside turns like only a Rome Heel Hoop can. A moderate flex profile provides a direct connection with high levels of feel and finesse.

** NOTE: These bindings do NOT come with a 3 hole disk to fit Burton boards. Rome will send you some for free though if you need them**

Overhyped (for my tastes), but still a solid binder
Pros: The straps are great, cushy, and solid feeling. The Conformist toe strap doesn't look like much, but it is IMO way better than Burton's top of the line capstrap, with better hold (even with Burton boots), a more versatile fit, and the ability to go over the boot. These bindings are a techie's dream, with an insane number of ways to adjust things and super clever design features.
Cons: I've been told that they are a great all-mountain binder, but they were just too freestyle-oriented for me. The highbacks are built great, but they run SUPER flat; I had to put the Forward Lean to max to get them where I wanted them (and I don't ride with that much lean, usually F2 or F3). Also didn't like the feel of the baseplate... while carpet boarding I noticed they have a lot of vertical travel. Not sure if that's because of the rubber dampening pad or what.
Other Thoughts: After demoing both companies, I prefer Unions since they are built with burlier baseplates. If you like softer baseplates and are looking for a freestyle binder, these are a sick option. For me, they lean a bit much towards park. On the flip side, the Targas are a bit aggressive for me... I'm hoping next year Rome will have something in between the two for me.

awesome binding
Pros: very comfortable binding. the straps are supportive and hold well. especially the top cap/strap. one of the best out there. the binding isn't that expensive compared to other bindings out there. a good all mountain binding. you can ride the park or hit the groomers without any issues. plenty of adjustibility.
Cons: none. well i guess the only con is that the sizing of the binding is weird for people in between sizes. i had last years in a L/XL and i had to put it on the smallest settings. I got this years in a S/M because i'm a size 8 and figured it would be a better fit. i thought the L/XL was too big so i got the S/M and with my Vans Fargo (big footprint) boots, i have to pretty much max everything out. if you're a size 8-9 boot, it's a little weird and you should test out your own boot with the binding in person first or see what others with the same setup have before buying.
Other Thoughts: a GREAT all around binding especially for the price. i have two pairs of these and love them.

Solid
Pros: The toe strap is amazing. There's tons of adjustability. Ratchets are smooth, and the ankle straps are super comfy. Pretty much any adjustment you would want to make on the hill is tooless.Solid binding for the price, the 390 can take anything you throw at it.
Cons: The only thing I've found that I don't like are the centering ladders are a little short if you have a high volume boot.
Other Thoughts: Rome's customer service and warranty can't be beat.

390% on the test
Pros: Works as both a cap strap and toe strap. Provides excellent control and just enough flex for an all mountain ride.
Other Thoughts: Bought last years limited edition model and have no complaints.
