Sierra Says: The DH is one of Ride's signature snowboards and has been an anchor in their lineup for years. This is the board of choice for many of their pro riders because of its ability to cover all aspects of freestyle riding. With a flex that is soft enough for jibs, yet powerful enough for the biggest jumps, the DH can easily handle any park feature as well as nature hits around the mountain. Carbon fiber is found throughout this board to increase pop, while Slimewalls keep impact to a minimum. Because this board is still fairly user friendly, any confident rider with a passion for freestyle will appreciate it.

Ride Says: Upholding the status of this award-winning twin, the DH features Pop Stixs for the perfect flex with added ollie pop. Complete with 85A Slimewalls and Cleave Edge for a durable, smooth Ride. Continuing to be a favorite Darrell Mathes and Marco Feichtner, this deck is sure to stoke out the park/jib guy and launch riders to the next level of mobility. Now offering this reputable Ride in wide!

"Best all-around board EVER... seriously! " 8/14/2009
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Ride DH
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Strong edgehold, Great value, Popular on mountain, Well known brand

Experience:   I actually have the 2005 model, you know, the one that was hot pink and baby blue on the base? The one that everyone saw and immediately thought I was gay, then saw it in the magazines and changed their minds and decided that I was awsome? Yea well, who cares? I demoed this board in 2004 as a blank white topsheet with "Ride DH" written with a black marker... Having demoed and ridden a ton of boards as a snowboard coach for many years, finding boards that make me say "WOW" are hard to come by. The DH is super lightweight, just the right stiffness and can pretty much handle any terrain at any speeds. I've ridden this board for 4 seasons, totally to probably over 1000 days on snow. To this day, this board still has life and has been retired to shelving unit status. I have put this board through hell and back, from riding at mach 10 on groomers in eastern Canada, to riding the powder at Whistler, to teaching thousands of beginners to a full season in the jagged rocks of New Zealand. The DH can handle all of this and more. From steep and narrow chutes to jibbing PVC pipes, I have never once thought that the DH wasn't capable, each time I've ridden this board, no matter what I was doing, I felt this board was built specifically for that task. Jumping off 30-40 ft cliffs in the backcountry, no problem! Having carving competitions with old school guys on factory primes, no problem! This board does it all, and even with all the banana tech coming, the DH is still the best board in my opinion. Its won awards consistently and isn' that expensive, i would recommend this board to anyone who wants a sweet board that can do it all. Seriously, go buy it right now, you won't be dissapointed!

  • Pros:  very good flex, stable at high speeds, has good pop
  • Cons:  top sheet scratches,

Experience:   i got the 2009 one and the graphics are sick!! when youre going fast the slimewalls dampen the vibrations and feel very nice. also the pop stix are very noticable when going on boxes or off jumps and landing. it has the perfect flex for me. you can still do jibs and it will still be very stable at high speeds

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Ride DH
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Light, lots of pop,
  • Cons:  if you don't like soft boards that might be a con.,

Experience:   I've ridden a dh this season.... bought it second hand and it was a bit short, but it's still been kind to me even in pretty high speed. I find it great for playing around with, poppy and light and follows you where you want to go. I reckon I'll stay with this board for a long time.

"Another average park board " 8/27/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Ride DH
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Twin, Fast Base,
  • Cons:  Pricey, Flacid,

Experience:   I have ridden this snowboard numerous times and never am I impressed. This board doesn't really do it for me. I mean its not a bad board, but I feel there are better boards out there in the same category and price range. The main issue I have with the DH is the dull flex. If I am riding a freestyle board that isn't buttery soft, I expect some decent pop. This board just feels kind of dead to me... not soft but not snappy. I also am not a fan of the slimewalls personally.... I like a little more boardfeel and this one is too damp for my preferences. I think if you are into park/freestyle you might want to give this a try. Just because I am not the biggest fan doesn't mean you wont be.

  • Name: 2009 Ride DH
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Durable, lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Soft

Experience:   Most of what is said about the DH is true, really maneuverable (although I was on a 153) and great for jibbing around. Who knows if the pop stix make that much of a difference but it is easy to press and butter and certainly ollies as well as most freestyle boards I've ridden.

Experience:   Not just a men's park board, My girlfriend rides this board for all - mountain... Mid-stiffness allows for good edge hold and stability. Slimewall dampen vibrations--..Doesn't chatter at speed. She rides it an inch set back with no issues. An amazin board and one of RIde's most popular sticks for a reason----It's a verastile deck for riders on any gender.

Experience:   Great board! I was looking for a board that could kill it in the park...and I found it. A friend of mine rides a DH and suggested it. I took him up on it and have never been happier. Great pop, not to stiff, slides well. I can't say enough good stuff about this board. Get one.

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Ride DH
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Strong edgehold, Great value

Experience:   I can't imagine a better board for jumps... this thing has more pop than Orville Redenbacher and landings are super mellow. You can actually believe the marketing mumbo-jumbo on this one - pop stix are for real and so are the slimewalls. I had a hard(er) time buttering this board, but I was coming off a Capita Stairmaster for most of the season, so I think I was spoiled. This board is not a soft noodle - but I think it makes it better all-around board. I didn't really like bombing down the mountain on the Stairmaster like I do this one. Outside of the park, the DH is actually pretty good. The base is definitely fast and the edges hold well in most conditions except really hard pack/ice. I found in "good" conditions this board rides/carves as well as my Prophet - and it's WAY more fun in the park. I think I found my new favorite all-around board... One con: The topsheet has a lot of tiny dimples. They are hard to see except in the right light but it's kind of a drag. I hope the long-term quality of the board isn't affected - it doesn't seem right to me. I wonder if anyone else has that issue as well or if I got sent some sort of "second".
