Sierra says: The Palmer Pulse has been a high-end top selling snowboard ever since it came out. This board has won three FSMVP awards and deserves all the hype. It has a directional twin shape for all mountain freestyle versatility and has a Klothoid sidecut for fast precision when turning and for better edge control at high speeds. Also with a centered stance, this board will rip it through the park all day long. • Name: 2009 Palmer Pulse
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Have it in case I snap one,
  • Cons:  Stiff, Stiff, Stiff

Experience:   Someone gave me one new, and I would be mad if I actually paid for one of these. Have a 160, and have to bomb straight lining so I dont drag as it seems extremely narrow. I went back to the delamed beater board after riding this one once.

"Good Value Board" 8/28/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Palmer Pulse
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Pros:  Solid, stable at high speed, good edgehold, Stiff (dependant on rider's preferance), Good Value.
  • Cons:  Stiff (dependant on rider's preferance), Heavy,

Experience:   A good, solid all-mountain board geared more towards freeride. I'll give it a flex rating of 6.5-7. Only downside for me is that it is a bit heavy, making rotations a bit harder, kind of making me regret not going a step up and buying the Palmer Burn but I would have had to pay customs tax if I did. This board is great for beginners or intermediate for carving black runs and under and hitting a few jumps and rails but if you like spinning in your jumps; I would recommend going for a lighter board.

"Not memorable" 4/14/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Palmer Pulse
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Strong edgehold, Stiff
  • Cons:  Sluggish

Experience:   I bought the 154 pulse as a stiffer short freestyle board for me. I did not like it. It was too stiff and heavy to be an effective short freestyle board. I swithched to the palmer flash and was much happier. I think riding the pulse as a big all mountain board is a better bet.

"great board" 3/25/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Palmer Pulse
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Strong edgehold, Great value

Experience:   my first board that i own, i was riding my bro-in-laws burton clash before. this board is super responsive, has good flex and pop to it, and stable when i'm racing down the hill. my only bummer is that after my first day out i dinged my rail and base probably from a box/rail and chipped part my top sheet near the rail on my second day, so not too sure how durable it is. but then again theres the sign that says "man-made obstacles can damage equipment" so when i get my next board from SS i'll designate this my beater board. also its hard to see but in the bottom left corner theres a drawing on a naked chick lol, my friends say it should help keep me motivated.

  • Name: 2009 Palmer Pulse
  • Pros:  Durable, lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Popular model

Experience:   I've had a chance to demo this board. I was amazed on how responsive this board was. I was able to go at high speeds while at the same time I felt I was in total control.

"Nice board for the $$$" 2/20/2008
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2007 Palmer Pulse
  • Pros:  Solid, pretty stiff, great for freeride.
  • Cons:  Little heavy, not exactly a jib stick, and difficult to pop. Heavy swing weight.

Experience:   Good for progression from beginner to intermediate. Not the board you'll want to pick up for playful park days or progressing air tricks. I still take this on rails and jumps regardless though, mind over matter.

"Elevated Pulse" 11/23/2007
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Palmer Pulse
  • Pros:  Great board to learn and grow on. I use mine as my all moutain board. The base is fast, turns are predictable edge hold is great, even over here on the Ice Coast. Soft enough to butter, but stiff enough to take on any part of the mountain.
  • Cons:  Graphics could be better, but thats the only thing I can think of to say thats bad about this board.

Experience:   Your not going to find a better all around board under $400
