Palmer P-Line Snowboard 2010

Sierra Says: The Palmer P-line has been the board of choice every year for the riders who are either just starting out or have been riding a while but have no clue what they want to do with snowboarding, although do know that they want to get good fast. It is one board that is good everywhere but not great at any one particular thing. The fully versatile shape, smooth quick base, and moderate flex make this board ideal for all conditions and all riders. Above all it is very affordable. Take this board from the park to the backcountry and realize the true meaning of a “versatile progression” snowboard.

Palmer Says: Ultimate Value Board. Overwhelmed, confused, intimidated about selecting a snowboard? Rows of boards to choose from, too many graphic choices, and lots of very confusing technical terminologies and distinctions. What’s my riding style, the sales guy asks? Wow… What do I know? I just wanna go snowboarding. I’m looking for a snowboard to do exactly that. Make it easy for me!

  • Name: 2010 Palmer P-Line
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Crud,High Speeds,Low Speeds
  • Pros:  Cheap, Minimalistic Topsheet Designs, Lightweight
  • Cons:  White gets NASTY quick, Definitely needs de-tuning 1st thing,

Experience:   I really can't say a whole lot about this board. I've ridden on K2 rental crap and burton LTRs up until now. The P-line is way more responsive in turns and alot softer than the LTR, but not as fast as the K2. All in all this is an excellent board for a beginner who doesn't want to sink a ton of money in at first. the board has a nice isospeed stoneground base, rides great straight out of the pack for the first few days on slush. After that it's going to need to be tuned up. I would definitely reccomend de-tuning the tip and tail pronto because it will throw you like a ragdoll if you're not expecting it.

I have this board and 100% agree on the de-tuning; I have had my fair share of unexpected face-plants thank you very much. Good board to learn on for the first year or so.

  • Pros:  Fast, Poppy,
  • Cons:  Stiff,

Experience:   I bought this snowboard at the begining of the year as my first snowboard. If I could do it over again I probably would of got something a little bit flexier because it's not very good for presses and butters. Also I have some scratches just from running over sticks but I am sure they would come out with wax. I really like how fast it is when it is freshly waxed. It is very poppy especially of the nose of the board. The bindings sit kinda far back which make it pretty easy to ride pow(but nothing like a RC board)Also it isn't to chatty at high speeds and holds an edge pretty well. Good board for those who like to charge hard and are on a budget.

Experience:   This is my first board in 2008 and i still love it. I don't have much riding experience but it feels a lot better than rental boards. Being a left handed i ride switch a lot and the twin shape lets me do this with ease

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Palmer P-Line
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Groomed,Low Speeds,Powder
  • Pros:  Great Flex, Forgiving, Good to learn on
  • Cons:  Top coat shows scratches easily.,

Experience:   Bought this board during the spring of 2009 and got it for a great price. Learned to ride on it this winter, and I've loved it ever since. It's got great flex for learning, and, from my limited experience, I feel like it is very forgiving on mistakes. I actually love the plain black design, but the top coat can show the mistakes since it's black. To me, however, that just shows your battle scars. I'd recommend this board to any beginner who wants a great ride with great flex. We rode in Breck this winter and got to do groomed and some pretty good powder. The board seemed to handle both very well. Since I'm a beginner, I rode under controlled, and this board was excellent for that. It handled blues very well, and it was even easy to use on some of the blacks that we rode. I'm becoming a stout supporter of Palmer boards, and I love this P Line.
