Sierra Says: The renowned snowboard that has made snowboarding easier and more fun for all. The Skate banana is a favorite among the park riders for its un-daunting ability to butter anything due to its rocker and softer center while still being able to launch off any kicker no matter its size as a result of its stiffer nose and tail. We mainly recommend this board to anyone who is in the range from a progressing park rider to the more advanced park rats. You will be stoked on how fast and easy your quiver of tricks will increase by using the Skate Banana. Whether you have big or small feet the Skate Banana is designed for all sizes!

LibTech Says: Award winning snowboard-specific designs on modern twin geometries. Rocker "banana" between your feet makes the Skate Banana loose and catch-free, it presses boxes, rails and jibs extremely well with the preset rocker, maintains pop with a stiffened tip and tail, and turns easily on hardpack or ice when the built-in rocker is put on edge. The built-in rocker curve makes the board float naturally in powder and the firm nose and tail prevent the board from folding in chunky conditions. Snowboarding is easier and more fun for all!
-CORRECT SANDWICH: Low spin weight!
-BANANA TECH: Control between your feet!
-MAGNE-TRACTION: Rides like a skateboard!
-H-POP CORE WITH BANANA SPECIFIC CORE PROFILE: Pop and performance
-POWER TRANSFER INTERNAL SIDEWALLS: More pop!
-SWIRL DOUBLE SINTERED UHMW SIDEWALLS: Tough like banana!
-SWIRL SINTERED UHMW BASE: Slippery like banana!

"Banana: believe the hype (just don't plan to stomp huge landings) " 9/9/2009
Helpful Review?   (5) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  insane butterability, fun and agile, presses anything with ease
  • Cons:  not stable at high speed, washes out off of big booters, severely lacks pop

Experience:   I charged my banana all over snowmass for christmas-newyears, and rode it on my home mountain of big bear 30+ days. i'm not gonna lie, this board is a worthy addition to anyone's quiver and will not dissapoint... for some, this board could even be a quiver killer, but in my opinion it can be a sketchy ride at high speed. You can float through powder, chomp up chunky stuff, carve on ice (magnetraction works sick) and butter anything, anywhere... but stomping a landing off of a fifty footer it SKE-----TCHY!! i found that even on huge straight airs i was washing out on just about every other landing and the pop, in my opinion left much to be desired. You CAN literally take this thing everywhere, though. i rode trees, pow, groomers and a park line, over and over again my whole trip in aspen, it even made an accidental trip down a mogul run super fun. the board did not disappoint, period. If you like versatility and a super fun, go ANYWHERE, playful ride, the skate banana won't let you down... but if you're looking for the super gnarly pop of a cambered board (like my un..inc) or the high speed stability of a board with greater torsional flex (like my un..inc or my custom X) , you might be better off keeping yourself on a stiffer rockered board like the burton joystick, custom v-rocker or the lib dark series (even though the stance options on the dark series suck), or a rad cambered board like the burton un..inc, easy livin' or custom. hit me up if you have any questions about any of the boards mentioned in this review....

"Fun, and slippery BaNaNa" 11/16/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Soft, Reverse Camber, Magna Traction
  • Cons:  Loose Feel,

Experience:   When the skate banana came out, it was hailed as a quiver killer, and that's pretty darn close to the truth. This board will tare up any rail you come across, press any box you mount, and float great in powder. For those of you who want some more grip, this board has it, the magna traction provides intense amount of grip, even with detuned edges, so jibbers u can now have you cake and eat it too! Now, as great as this board is, I would recommend steering around them jumps, As with all loose camber boards, this one has a very loose feel, and is definitely sketchy on the booters, I found that I would wash out quite bit, which is a bit of a bummer, but all in all great board, specially for you jibbers out there.

Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Feels incredible in all types of snow terrain, great in park and all over the mountain, super fun Board
  • Cons:  A little slow ,

Experience:   I currently ride, love and worship my 2009 Lib Tech Skate Banana. I don’t know if I could ever go back to a normal chamber board. I ride on the East Coast a lot on poor snow conditions and have zero problems holding an edge. The magna-traction works beautifully. This board kills the park as well. When I took this board out west last season I could not believe how great this board floats in powder. I highly recommend the Skate Banana to any riding looking for a supper fun board that can be used any where on the mountain.

"Lib Tech Skate Banana" 11/7/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Lib Tech Skate Banana BTX
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Smaller Jumps up to 40ft, Floats nicely in powder, Great for rails, butters, boxes
  • Cons:  Jumps over 50ft, Could have a little better pop, In certain snow conditions it can be a little slow

Experience:   I purchased the 2009 Skate Banana last year and it has lived up to all of its expectations. It does great in the park and kills rails and smaller jumps. I've found that with jumps over 50ft you slip out a little more than with boards with regular camber. That being said, I wouldn't trade this board for any other because what it lacks in big jumps it makes up for everywhere else. On days with fresh snow this board is probably at its best. Also, the Magnetraction never loses its edge and makes even the iciest days fun. I recommend this board for anyone who wants to progress their riding and have fun all over the mountain.
