Great all mountain expert ski!

Jim Says: The best attributes of a fairly light ski are that it is nimble and maneuverable on steep slopes. The negative is that a light ski can be unstable when pushed hard in thick rough snow. Dynastar believes that if you give a light nimble ski, a fairly moderate shape, you can get more stability without sacrificing the highly desirable quickness. The new Exclusive Powder takes this concept to produce a new womens 50/50 model with a wide range of capabilities. I skied the 165 cm Powder in the spring and found it could dance in the fall line better than some narrower skis, yet it powered the crud and spring slop very well. The raised heel platform helps this wide ski turn much quicker than it's shape would suggest, but it is really best suited for med-long turns. Edge grip is good enough that this could be an everyday ski for the woman with a substantial appetite for the off trail. A very good friend and long time ski partner tried this ski and thought that she could get rid of her mid fats and her fat skis and replace both with this one model. The 158 will make a great tool for the average sized expert and the 165 will suit the bigger or more aggressive skiers.

Katherine Says: The Powder is a serious off-piste powderhouse hence the name. On trail, this ski definitely requires some work if it is taken into tight spots for it prefers more open areas that allow medium to long turns. In its element, the Powder excels in the soft, deep, broken-up stuff even at speed. It has a smooth, stable, damp feel which exudes self-assurance.
