Sierra and Capita Says: After a HUGE debut last season, the Capita Horrorscope became an instant favorite in the park scene. For 2010, we decided to colab with our friends at Capita once again to create a Sierra-exclusive version. The new Sierrascope is a completely overhauled and upgraded Horrorscope to Sierra's specs with increased control, durability and steez. The Sierrascope will have a similar shape as the Horroscope FK but we added carbon stringers in an X between the insert packs to provide better edge to edge responsiveness while allowing the tip and tail to be butter friendly. Combine that with a Reforestation Certified Sustainable Core and we have a legitimate commitment to... More »

  • Name: 2010 Capita Sierrascope FK
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Halfpipe,Jumps,Rails
  • Pros:  Super limited edition, Horrorscope on steriod that are eco friendly, Good Wood winner
  • Cons:  Not everyone will get to have one, It doesn't have Union Bindings already on it! ,

Experience:   This board is DOPE. The Sierra dudes custom picked their favorite CAPiTA shape, which happened to be the TWS Good Wood winner the Horrorscope and then completely overhauled the tech on it. Harder and faster base, Eco friendly core, better glass all translate to a board that kicks some serious ass. And only available at Sierra.

"For the light weight freestyle snowboarder" 12/8/2009

  • Name: 2010 Capita Sierrascope FK
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Use:  Butters,Jibs,Jumps,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Super soft flex for lighter rider, Upgraded technology from horrorscope, Flat Kick rocker helped w/ 180's & switch riding
  • Cons:  My legs are soar from buttering all weekend,

Experience:   I just had two amazing days on the sierrascope 152 at this weekends expert members board meeting in tahoe, and this is why it's my new go to board: -I'm 145 lbs and need a super soft board for butters, jibs and just messing around. -Because this board allowed me to butter, I had a lot of fun learning new tricks (courtesy of doug and donald!) -Super light -We got about 6-12 inches of snow on sunday and the flat kick rocker SHOCKED me in terms of allowing me to float through the pockets of powder -Edge hold was great at high speeds -Hit some kickers and felt comfortable in air and landing -Switch riding/fk rocker: helped me improve greatly, felt very comfortable popping over to switch since less of a chance of catching an edge. Same with landing switch or 180's. Will help with my progression this year in freestyle riding (buttering/180/360) -Note: i wrote a similar review on the burton x8 which i would put the sierrascope up toe to toe with. -I would recommend this board for the freestyle riders that are lighter weight like myself. Most of the other guys were riding the custom vrocker, i swapped boards for a run with doug and it was too stiff for me. -I've been free riding for the last 8-10 years, and I'm really excited to be back on a softer board and learning new tricks. I stayed away from the park for years as my body couldn't take the punishment anymore, but this board has single handedly inspired me to get back into freestyle. You don’t even have to go into the park to have fun with buttering etc…hopefully doug fagel will get his “how to butter” how to video up soon so you know what I’m referring to. Cheers

"So. Much. Fun." 1/26/2010

  • Name: 2010 Capita Sierrascope FK
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,High Speeds,Jibs,Jumps,Low Speeds,Switch Riding,Ungroomed
  • Pros:  Soft, but with surprisingly good edgehold, Great pop for a reverse camber stick, Light
  • Cons:  Topsheet takes damage easily (if you care), Not the fastest base, Doesn't come in larger sizes.

Experience:   Me: 5'11, 195 lb, intermediate-advanced rider, so definitely on the bigger side for this board. I have to admit I was a little skeptical going in, but after demoing this board for a day I was convinced to sell another stick to make room for it in my quiver. It's RIDICULOUS soft and easy to press, yet still holds a very solid edge and is very poppy for a reverse camber board. Most reverse camber boards I've been on are pretty lacking in that department, but this one's no slouch. I took it everywhere from the park to hard-pack moguls to tree steeps in mostly crappy, bumpy snow and I had a blast. At speed, it wasn't the most stable board ever (like I said, I'm pretty heavy for the flex and size), but it was comfortable enough that I didn't have any issues. I loved it to the point that I went out and bought one as a screw-around board that still affords some versatility at speed and in trees. In the Midwest, that's all I need. If it came in a 160 (MORE SIZES, SIERRA!!!), I'd ride it everyday in bigger mountains. The only small real complaint I have is that the base is not the fastest; it's not slow by any means and I had no trouble in flats, but it doesn't accelerate as quickly as I'm used to (to be fair, I rode it right out of plastic on factory wax). Any level rider can appreciate this board. It's soft enough that a beginner would have no problem on it, but burly and versatile enough for more experienced riders.

  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,Jibs,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Flexy, holds a good edge, great for switch
  • Cons:  only comes in 2 sizes,

Experience:   I have put about 10 days on this board so far. It is an incredible board. I have the 156 and I am 6ft 205lbs. It has taken everything I have thrown at it so far. I can press this thing to the moon but still rail it hard down a steep. It will wash a little on the steeps but it is a park oriented board. I absolutely love riding this thing switch, and don't even get me started on popping flat land 1s and 3s on this thing it just KILLS it!!! I have hit some park features with it (mainly boxes) and it is so much fun. I love just tail pressing this thing across a flat box. If you want a fun board that you can do pretty much everything at a resort on for a hell of a price look no farther than the sierrascope.

  • Pros:  extreme flex, nicest rocker,
  • Cons:  i do not like the graphic so much,

Experience:   This board is just sick for jibbing around the park. It owns everything, from rails to boxes to small kickers. The flex is extremely nice. I press the sickest manuals with ease. Feels like im floating on the mountain. You do not notice this board under your reinforced base with carbon gives you that nice pop. Flat kick for good railing. Only con I could think of were the graphics. Get this board real fast if you love the park. I bet you will love it

  • Pros:  Dope , Super fast base, fun shape
  • Cons:  needs major detuning from factory,

Experience:   This board is dope. It's my 3rd day on it and i'm killing it! This thing lives in the park. I own a skate banana and that thing doesn't feel stable like this board at speed. But this board is poised at speeds. So good on rails too. Really buttery feel and presses really easy. I was worried it would be too stiff but it's perfect. The carbon really helps with turns and is in the right place. Kills in the pipe too. This is deffintely the best board for everything. Jumps pipe rails powder.

  • Name: 2010 Capita Sierrascope FK

  • Pros:  Really fun board, Amazing price,

Experience:   Rode this board at blackcomb today and it was easily the funnest board I have ever ridden. Haven't ridden any other reverse camber boards, but with the sierrascope I could not catch an edge even if i wanted to. Took it all over the mountain and it performed well everywhere. I think this board can definately expedite the learning process. I am an intermediate rider who is 138lbs riding the 152 and thought it had the perfect flex. And for $300, probably best bang for buck this season. I too will not be going back to a regular cambered board after this.

  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,Jibs,Jumps,Low Speeds,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  Lots of Pop!!, Press with ease!!,
  • Cons:  none.,

Experience:   I rode this board in chop, groomers, and 2 feet of powder over 3 days at Northstar in Lake Tahoe. This board impressed me straight from the get-go. It is VERSATILE. Being mostly a mtn terrain rider, i was very surprised by how well the sierrascope held an edge and carved down the mtn.Cruising around, this board had TONS of pop, and pressing was as easy as it was fun. Capita's FK tech helped it keep its nose up in powder, and the sierrascope floated very well. This board really shines on groomers, intermediate terrain, and in the park. I wouldn't call it a quiver killer, as i prefer a stiffer board for the advanced terrain, but if you're looking for a fun and versatile park/freestyle board, this is truly an excellent choice. At the top of my list.

  • Name: 2010 Capita Sierrascope FK
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Butters,Groomed,High Speeds,Jumps,Low Speeds,Switch Riding
  • Pros:  soft flex , nice edge , nice pop

Experience:   Weight 170lb height 5'8 152 cm conditions where packed powder on top of hard ice. You could hear it scraping the ice riding down. Small mountain night riding. The flex on this board is crazy soft compared to my omatic awesome. I had a hard time doing nose presses on my omatic but this board just loves to press. Nollies, ollies and butters where just tooo easy on this thing. I could not do this all with my omatic. The edges are really sharp but after 4 hours of riding I could tell the ice was killing my edge especially toe side. Some burrs at the end of the night. The base was freshly waxed with cold temp wax held up fine. At the end of 4 hrs of riding the base edges where showing some dry and whiteness. The pop off this board was better then my omatic it was just like a spring. Load the nose hop to the back tail and bounced right up. Hitting jumps were pretty solid but you had to stomp the landing or land at the same angle of the landing. Landing on the tail it was too soft felt it wanting to wash out on me but theres so much play with the board and hard to catch and edge you could ride it out. Over all I am very happy with the board the omatic will not be going out at all this year. I will ride the capita even into next season. I was a little skeptic with the reviews here but I agree 100% with all. Keep in mind this is my first flat kick board (reverse camber). I really like the feel of it. If your thinking about getting it Just do it you can thank me later.

Oh yeah the base is fast too and the base is reverse colors. Base background is blue with black capita letters. Nice touch I am sure during the day the snow will reflect the blue which I think is pretty cool.
