Sierra Says: The X8 is a technical snowboard designed for the serious park rider. With a list of features longer than any park board on the market, the X8 reigns at the top of the freestyle food chain. The 2010 model still has the mid-soft flex, fast sintered base, and Park Fly III Core, but now comes equipped with the V-Rocker as well. We recommend this one for the established park guy that is looking for cutting-edge freestyle performance.

Burton Says: We've all had them. Dreams where you're hitting the perfect jump. Time slows down as you leave the lip, you keep spinning, drop the shoulder, spin some more, and always stomp it. Until we develop a way to guarantee these wet dreams every night, we offer the X8. Lighter, faster, and more capable than ever before, this year it gives Jedi's like Tadashi Fuse the superhuman foot control, press-ability, and pop of V-Rocker.

"More than you would expect" 11/24/2008
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton X8
  • Pros:  lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Soft

Experience:   The board handles better than expected, I took it in everything from 2 feet of powder (it wasn't amazing but it did the job) to launching kickers. The board is soft but stomps landings and can be used anywhere. Some may disagree but after a season on it, I was impressed. $600 is high cost, but the topsheet changes color when it gets cold, so that has to count for something right?

"My new park snowboard" 9/3/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton X8
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Helped me progress my park riding, Perfect flex for my weigth (145lbs),
  • Cons:  this field should not be required,

Experience:   I test rode this board at sugar bowl during bruizzapalooza and fell in love with it instantly. This board has PERFECT amount of flex for me. (145lbs). The day I rode this board in the park my comfort level on the kickers grew immensely. Approaching the jump the board was very stable, yet when olly-ing and landing there was a soft transition...can't wait to get back out on the snow this year. My avatar pic is from the day testing out the x8. hit me up in private chat if you have any questions.

"I love this board!" 4/7/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton X8
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Strong edgehold, Soft

Experience:   I have ridden the super model x, super model, custom x, t6, fix, hero, and jeremy jones this year. I bought the x8 and my buddy the jeremy jones. Both these boards are killers. I disagree with people who say the x8 cant handle the steeps. I took it on blacks and had no issues...you just need blacks that are groomed. If the steeps are bumpy it is much harder to maintain control. But in good conditons you can carve the steeps with it really well. The board is great switch, light, easy to butter, and super quick edge to edge. Simply put this board rocks.

  • Name: 2010 Burton X8
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  Responsive, So much pop,
  • Cons:  stiff,

Experience:   Absolutely the most responsive setup I've ever been on. All I had to do with think about turning and it felt like the board could read my mind. Its got a fantastic amount of pop for the park and with the quick center channel, its easy to slide the bindings back for some powder runs.

  • Name: 2009 Burton X8

  • Pros:  Durable, lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Popular model, Well known brand

Experience:   I'm pretty stoked on this deck. Big mountain freestyle killer. Positive core profile makes it soft enough for jibs, and freaking boosts on big jumps. I have and absolute blast on it in the pipe, good edge on the lips when I'm in there. I rode it on a 6ft day, it did awesome, rides great switch in the pow.
