"Burton Hero!!" 11/24/2009
Helpful Review?   (15) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton The Hero
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Great flex, butters and spins easy,
  • Cons:  Shaky at high speeds,

Experience:   I switch off between the hero and a never summer sl-r. But i gotta say that i especially love my hero, for one the weight difference between the two is crazy.. My hero is so much lighter, and much more fun to just dick around on the mountain. I love to just bounce around the whole mountain on this thing! I feel like i can do anything and go anywhere on this board! Only problem i have is trying to go to fast on this board it gets a bit shaky at high speeds.

Yo intercambie entra "the hero" y la "never summer sl-r".

"Hero, SuperHero in disguise?" 11/11/2009
Helpful Review?   (9) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton The Hero
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Soft Flex, Burton's V-Rocker, Catch-Free
  • Cons:  Same as every other Reverse camber board, Less stable at high speeds,

Experience:   The Burton Hero dominates the competition in the reverse camber field. With Burton's v-rocker, this board board floats fairly well in powder, and is catch free on the groomers. The soft flex makes this board super fun in parks that focus on jibbing. Like all Reverse Camber (RC) boards, the hero suffers from unstableness at higher speeds, but deals with it considerably better than the majority of rc boards out there. If your a jibber looking for a quiver killer, definitely take a good look at this board, if your into all-mountain, or spend you time in the pipe, or a super-park fan, I'd go straight to Cambered boards, you'll find a much more stable ride there. But If you want one board to kill them all, at least take at a look at this bad boy.

"This board +3 steez" 4/14/2010
Helpful Review?   (5) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton The Hero
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Fast enough for all mountain, Powder, Learning tricks minus the pain
  • Cons:  Can't handle the chop at speed, Heavy,

Experience:   I'm an East Coaster coming off a Burton Custom '09 and the differences are clear off the bat. This board is just as fast as a Custom on groomers, but you can pop it without a Street Fighter 2 - Guile Flash Kick pre-load. And you can actually flex this thing without A) being a pro or B) straining a groin muscle. This isn't necessarily a noodle, as you can ride this everywhere. But while you're blazing down the groomers and you hit tracked-out/choppy terrain you better be careful. Slow down/pick your line or you're gonna wash out. There's no camber or stiffness to power through the bumpy stuff. That said, if you're considering this as a park/freestyle board PLUS ability to ride powder/some mountain, you're gonna be ecstatic. The reverse camber prevents edge catch, and the spooned out edges saved me countless times on incomplete rotations. It'll bump up your freestyle learning curve because of the combo of those two techs. Progressed from butters to 180s to 3s pretty quick. You know that point where you've learned how to ride fast, pop ollies off those rollers with your old board and you say I think I want a flexier board to learn tricks? This is that board.

  • Cons:  havnt found one yet,

Experience:   I was riding a Jeremy Jones before this board which i loved and then i tried this board. Man O man when I road this board i had way more hops and more extra spins. It really stepped up my game to the next level. I recommend this board for sure.

"Fun for some" 8/27/2009
Helpful Review?   (4) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton The Hero
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Holds an edge well, Easy to press, fairly good all mountain
  • Cons:  mainly excels in park and groomers,

Experience:   Conditions: groomers and park The board held an edge well. It was easy to spin but I did not love the board immediately. After a few runs the board was more to my liking but still gets put on the shelf for the custom vroc. I rode the 152 which is about the mid-range for a park board for me. I usually ride 148-154 depending on the day. I like the hero but there are no real changes from 2009. The board is a lot of fun and can be used all over the mountain.

"hero wide ltd" 10/3/2009
Helpful Review?   (3) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton The Hero
  • Skill:  Advanced
  • Pros:  dope, good for it all, butter knive
  • Cons:  N/A,

Experience:   i have the hero wide limited 155.(same thing just looks different) so i took my new wood down to the jibyard ........an indoor park just the other day, and as for the board i didn't have the option to give it any jump testing. but railwise the shit is tight.you can get extra nice presses ,and with board-slide's it pops right to that cuppage you'd expect from regular camber. it spins smooth, feels great on the feet, and the ics/est system is genius. however, i thought at first the bindings were a bad choice...but after some excessively easy adjustments they turned out to to be a killer combination.

  • Name: 2010 Burton The Hero
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Lots of pop, Smooth buttering,
  • Cons:  Difficuly to control at high speeds,

Experience:   Good for park, bad at high speeds (like all rockers). It makes buttering a lot smoother and really helps you lock on the rails. Board is best for park, but does all right for all mountain riding.

Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton The Hero
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Great flex, Reverse Camber Board,

Experience:   This is a super flex board that mekes buttering lots easier, a very fun board but not so good at highs speeds, the color looks better in person, i demoed the 155, and the color is rad, if you bought this board you will used it better in parks, but you can also use it all over the mountain obviusly not like a regular chamber.

Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (6) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton The Hero
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  Park, Tricks,
  • Cons:  unstableness at higher speeds,, too soft/flex,

Experience:   If you're searching for a board to the park, go ahead... But who told that you can use it in all mountain?!?!? UNSTABLE, specially in HIGHER speeds, NO DISCUSSION ABOUT THAT, FACT! Too soft and to flexible to ride in all conditions... I used in Breck this season and was very, very disappointed... V-Rocker?!?! Please, let me come back to my loved camber boards... If you want and advice, please: Custom X + Co2 EST bindings...

ksmountain
Strange evaluation, pablitoautran. You rated this board negatively because it doesn't do some things it was obviously not designed to do? It sounds to me like you didn't understand the board you bought and were then disappointed. Don't blame the board for that!

"I am a super hero when I'm riding this board!!!" 5/14/2010
Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton The Hero
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Pros:  V-rocker reverse camber (very flexible), makes the impossible possible, the funnest board i have ever owned
  • Cons:  shaky at high speed, resin coat (top clear finish) easily cracks,

Experience:   i busted out a frontside 540!! enough said. i purchased 2010 hero 152cm through sierra and i could not be happier. with the reverse camber with flexibility 2, i butter all day with ease, spin like i never spun before, and well... most importantly look reeeeal sexy on my board. that's right. i am super sexy on the hero. it is hands down the funnest board i have ever ridden in the groomed, ungroomed, off trail.. when i switch ride, butter, jib, and most importantly at the park. it gave me the confidence to go beyond my limit has ever been. it gives me the courage and the assurance that i can spin faster and harder. well after busting out a front 540 for the first time i have fallen in a deeper love with this board. with 152cm the top of the board has a lemon yellow color, and the bottom has cadmium red color, which my friend called it a 'skittle.' i ride with the burton malavita est bindings which is probably the best park binding in the year of 2010. i love this board. i would marry it if i could. the only bad part of this board would be that it is shaky at high speed like all reverse camber boards.
