If you find yourself checking weather.com five times a day or more during the winter, just in hopes of a passing storm, this snowboard is for you. The Malolo is a tapered shape Freeride snowboard that rides like a flying fish through the powder. It's got just the right amount of taper to hold your high speeds and still have some extremely sharp turning through the trees. Stance is set a little back which helps keep the nose up when it's deep. The Malolo is also awesome for high speed groomer runs. Burton Says: Terje, Nicolas, DCP and Downing's freestyle powder stick, the Malolo brings together the best of OG ATVs like the legendary Custom and the powder-hungry Fish. No rear leg burn, no need to sacrifice control in the air for float in deep snow, the Malolo and its moderately tapered shape lets you spin off cliffs, stomp in powder, then spray your crew. Incredibly fast, stable, and agile on-piste and off, prepare to re-experience the entire mountain. ![]() ![]()

Burton Malolo Snowboard Reviews (5 total)7/26/2008 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pros: soft Tip, great Pow Board or occasional Groomer Board
Cons: Tip starts vibrating a bit when going faster on groomers
2/11/2008 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pros: This board is perfect for those days when you have no idea what the conditions are going to be like. Excels in the powder and when it gets heavy and chopped up you don’t get tossed around. Groomers are great and you can even take a kicker or two. This thing also is really great in the spring in the slushy snow.
Cons: Not the best in Ice or park., Hard packed Ice its not the best.
Other Thoughts: This is not a park board, This is an all mountain powder board. For that it can’t be beat. I’ve used my fish only two days since in three years. The Malolo is and the Vapor are the only two boards I need.. heck I should sell my others.
1/16/2008 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pros: Like title reads, it really does turn very accurately. Keeps the tip up in the deep stuff. It's pretty much a must have in pow!
Cons: It's a little harder to ride in the groomers than your standard board. The tail wants to slide out more aggressively.
Other Thoughts: I take this board out when there is at least 6" of fresh pow. I ride my standard board on the groomers.
1/9/2008 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pros: kills in powder. no need to worry about back leg pains as you barely have to lean back to float
the board is pretty quick toe to edge
Cons: you wouldn't want to take this into the park
can get choppy on ice
Other Thoughts: actually handles groomers and hard-packed better than some would have you believe
1/8/2008 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pros: -easy float in powder
-back leg doesn't burn because of small tail
-carves on the groomers just like any freeride board
Cons: -not best board for the park..
Other Thoughts: -I have been on this board for last 3 years
