Sierra Says: The Hail has been the freestyle standard for the past number of years, and it really is no secret why. This boot has all the essentials for park domination, including a softer yet supportive flex and an articulating cuff to keep it consistent. It also features traditional lacing for the perfect fit, plush cushioning throughout the sole to hinder the big impacts, and just an overall comfortable design. We recommend the Hail to any serious rider that is looking for a time-tested, softer boot to abuse in the park or around the mountain.

Burton Says: Loaded with every unfair advantage, the Hail is the logical choice for those pulling 100 days a year, scrubbing toilets at night, just to shred all day. Built to let you lap the park 'til your legs fall off, the Hail is crazy comfortable and crammed with cushioning- check the NEW Stay-Puft Calf Capsule and massive NEW 270 Airbag. Slimmer, lighter, and built fro tweakin, there's no better choice for those who have their priorities straight.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Hail
  • Pros:  Well cushioned, Easy Lacing,
  • Cons:  Pressure on top of my foot,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  11.5
  • Boot Size:  11

Experience:   I just got these and took them out for a last run of the season. First thing you notice is how cushioned it feels. The only issue I had was the pressure on the top of foot. After loosening up the laces around the top box it felt great. So far so good. I like these boots.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Hail
  • Pros:  confortable, Excelent heel grip, Back caf cushioning
  • Cons:  laces get in teh way,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  12
  • Boot Size:  13

Experience:   This is an amazing pair of boots. They are amazingly confortable. It has a sole long air cushion that absorbs all impact. the heel grip is outstanding, the fabric around the heel has a different texture that really grips. The back caf cushioning is super cool unless you ahve a ver tall highback. works great with cartels but not so great with CO2s. The antimicrobial stuff really works. my socks can stink but my boots have no smell at all. it works so well i went and got socks with the same tech. This boots is stiff enough to do nose and tail presses with easy yet super comfortable and flexy when leaning down on your board. The only con is the laces. I am not a big fan of the pull string method burton has but there is no place to really tuck your laces away in a way that they are not all bunched up.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Hail
  • Pros:  Comfortable, Looks Good, Great Boot
  • Cons:  None,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  9
  • Boot Size:  8

Experience:   I absolutely love these boots!! They're really comfortable and by far the best boots I have ever owned. I used to own ride boots and DC boots and they are no comparison to these Hails. There are no flaws on these boots and I wish they had more in my size so I can keep a spare.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Hail
  • Pros:  Comfortable, No heel lift, Warm
  • Cons:  A little hard to get in and out,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  soft
  • Shoe Size:  9
  • Boot Size:  9

Experience:   I have the 09 Burton Hail. Its super comfortable and I use it for all mountain freestyle and some park time (a little soft for just all mountain riding). I didnt use the jbar at first, but after I broke in the boot a little I noticed a bit of heel lift and threw in the j bars and presto. Something a little annoying about the 09 boot is there is a loop that connects to the tongue that holds your lace. If you want to really loosen up your boot then that ring slips into the boot and you have to fish it back out. (does that make sense). Overall super nice boot for all mountain freestyle

"Great Boots" 12/23/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Hail
  • Pros:  Great Flex, Warm, Easy in and out
  • Cons:  My white boots are getting really dirty,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  9
  • Boot Size:  9

Experience:   I love these boots. They hold my feet tight together and keep them nice and warm. These boots are very nice and are very easy to get on and off. They also have just the right about of flex for a park rider, not to much but not to litter either. I love these boots and would recommend them to anyone. (Bested used with Burton Bindings.)

"Made my feet numb" 8/31/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Hail
  • Pros:  look good,
  • Cons:  not comfortable,
  • Shoe Size:  10.5

Experience:   i always go and try boots on in local shops before i come and buy them from sierra, and am happy that i do, because after just a few minutes of having these boots on, my feet would go numb, even when i don't tie the laces too tight. for some reason they apply pressure on parts of my foot that make it go numb and tingly. i have a wide foot, maybe that's what it is. but i definitely recommend trying these on before buying them.

"2010 Burton Hail Striper" 8/15/2010
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Hail
  • Pros:  design , traditional lacing, cushion
  • Cons:  Hard to get them on,
  • Fit:  mid
  • Flex:  mid
  • Shoe Size:  12
  • Boot Size:  12

Experience:   Got Burton Hail Striper. Sick design(color). They are Awesome. Solid. Very comfy. They get better every time you get them on and use(breaking in). Probably the most comfortable boots I have tried so far. I use them with Burton Cartel EST bindings-works grate. I think mine are going to get dirtier quicker then dark color models because of white stripes and white laces, but it’s not a concern for me. Overall 5 stars.

Experience:   Tried on an 11.5 in 2010 hails in my local store. Order an 11.5 08 hail here on clearance. Wow, these hurt my feet. Very uncomfortable all the way around. Laces wouldn't stay tight. Had to return them

You should have compared the diff techs in the boots. There are major differences between the 08's and 10's. Review should be on the boots not your error.
