Sierra Says: The 2010 Dom has been renovated to meet the increasing demands of today's park riders. After gaining much praise for the V-Rocker on last years Hero, Burton decided to apply a similar technology, called the Party Rocker, to their flagship jib board for the new season. This shape is essentially a three-stage rocker, with zero camber between the bindings and rockers that lift the tip and tail completely off the snow. The product of this is a playful, easy to manipulate snowboard that literally butters itself. Another upgrade is the addition of the Channel mounting system, which will give you more stance options and a truer, more consistent flex than ever before. We highly recommend the Dominant for any level of park rider with a passion for jib features and small kickers.

Burton Says: The Dominant, with our NEW Party Rocker, is all about stacking new tricks. Zero Camber between your feet focuses control and creates a "loose-trucks" feel. Subtle rockers lift the tip and tail, giving you power to press with He-Man strength while reducing your risk of rag-dolling. The street-tuned Rail Ready edges seal the deal in your quest to stomp moves that haven't even been named yet.

Sierra says: "Taking the beginner park rider and turning them into a pro. The dominant is a forgiving easy-to-ride snowboard that stomps any jib/rail hits like its nothing. Also having a smooth base allows it to butter fast and smooth. Like to skateboard? The dominant is just the board for you... With increased pop and a softer core; this board makes doing tricks simple, fun, and easier than doing them on a skateboard. Never skateboard before...? This board will make you want to try."

Burton says: More pop than a freshly gripped 7-ply skate deck. From mini shred jersey jumps, to triple kink urban ledges, the skate-style Dominant will make you jump for joy like you just found the rainbro's proverbial pot o' gold. With the endless pop of Infinite Ride, buttery flex of the Park Fly core and our new meatier Park Edges with the bite-free Rail Ready tune, you might wonder where the trucks and wheels go, cause this thing's pretty much a skateboard for snow.

Helpful Review?   (2) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: 2008 Burton Dominant
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Durable, lightweight, poppy, Popular model, Strong edgehold, Great value, Popular on mountain, Soft, Well known brand

Experience:   i cant totally rate this board because i havent riden it yet. It looks hot, and i can tell is flexible. Shipping sucked though, it took 3 more days than it was supposed to and came in slightly damaged[ there was a large scratsh on top and some chiped paint along the edges, but the train it was on derailed so i kind of understand, they should protect it a little better though]. all tougether a pretty hot board. cant wait to ride it.

"Park Monster" 3/15/2008
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2008 Burton Dominant
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Nice Soft Flex but as long as you get the right flex it is still stable. Tears up boxes and rails, and very stable in the air. I have never ridden a better park board in this price range. In the short time I have ridden it I think it has maybe even progressed my riding a bit.
  • Cons:  A little bit of vibration can be felt in certain snow condidtions mainly hard pack or ice but the board has performed well on groomers and in slush.

Experience:   I have ridden it 5 times now and have no problem shredding up my michigan ski resorts but if you ride on mountains you may not want to use this exclusively. If you want a good park board but dont want to spend 600 dollars on a pro model then this is the board for you.

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Dominant
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  light weight, poppy, durable, great in the park, good value, popular brand,, graphics
  • Cons:  a little soft for the mountain.,

Experience:   The 2009 Burton Dominant is a great board for in the park, and for doing butters they don't make them any better and this is a great value. The only downside is that it is a little soft for the mountain but still performs well. great board. perfect right out of the box for the park, slide your bindings back and have some fun in powder, and cruise around on groomers. Fun board. I have the 159, recommend going with a size down for more fun in the park!

Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Dominant
  • Skill:  Beginner
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Pops nicely, easy spin, very flexi but not too soft
  • Cons:  none,

Experience:   The board has a perfect amount of flex. Slams the park like a monster, whether you've been ripping for years or your new to the game. As my first snowboard, it treated me very well. It has a medium amount of forgiveness and won't cushion too much of a landing off jumps, but that's not what it's made for. Slides nice on boxes and has nice pop for those little kickers. Graphic looks real kick-ass

  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  Jibby, Forgiving, light weight
  • Cons:  Priced higher then comparable boards,

Experience:   The Burton Dominant really has one of the best names out there because it really describes the board perfectly. Its a softer freestyle board for the 65% park 35% all mountain park rider. Spinning is effortless, and jibbing... forget about it! This is my favorite Burton board because every time i ride one.. i do something new that i didn't think i could do. It really is one of those boards thats easy to progress on. If you want to rock it in the park and turn everything on the mountain into a feature, take a look at the Dominant.

"great board but..." 10/6/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2009 Burton Dominant
  • Skill:  Intermediate
  • Use:  Boxes,Groomers,Jumps,Powder,Rails
  • Pros:  flexible but not TOO flexible,
  • Cons:  sidewalls get dented easily,

Experience:   I've the 07 model for 3 years now and have loved it ever since I bought it. The only downside is that is does not do well on jumps. It is not stiff enough to get good pop off jumps and you end up just losing your balance in the air. On boxes and rails, this board cannot be beat. It is also a great board for just riding around the mountain on groomers and does well in powder too. If your a jibfanatic, this board is for you, but if you're a person who rides jumps in addition to the boxes and rails, I would go with a different board.

  • Pros:  buttery flex, sick on rails, slippery base
  • Cons:  none.,

Experience:   i love the dominant. i own one and i take it into all the parks and even down double black diamond powder runs. the mid-wide base and soft flex makes it easy to float over the pow and still kill the park rails, jumps and boxes.

Experience:   I just got this board and i reallly like it. It has a ton of pop and feels comfortable. It's not too heavy. The only thing i was surprised about is the way the grip tape was cut out on the top. It's uneven but i have a feeling this was done on purpose to give it an even edgier look
