Sierra Says:
The Custom X is the best selling advanced all mountain snowboard since it has been out. There is good reason for it to be, it is a super smooth riding all terrain shredding big mountain machine. This season Burton has dropped the Baron ES from their line up and now making the Custom X in wides for the big footed fellas out there. If your looking for a super light weight, aggressive riding board to kill it anywhere there is snow, the Custom X is an excellent choice.

Burton Says:
The peak-to-park weapon of choice for DCP, Frederik K., Marko Grilc, and Kazu, the Custom X, now also available in wide sizes, is the ultimate upgrade for those ready to ride at higher levels. Heli-accessed pillow lines, shit-your-pants Alaskan gnar, stadium kickers, or World Cup superpipes---dissect all elements with surgical precision, warp speed, and second-nature agility. With the X, next-level freestyle is yours for the slaying.

**The Burton Second is covered by Burton's warranty. The Burton Second meets 100% of Burton's manufacturing standards except for the graphical blemish on the top sheet, these Burton Seconds snowboards are brand new and are stamped second on the base. The Burton Seconds are a great deal and when you receive yours you will see that graphic blemish is so small or hard to even notice.

Burton Custom X 159W
Terrain Use: Jumps, Boxes and Rails, Speed, Powder, Carving, Backcountry, Groomers, All Mountain
Pros: Durable, lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Stable at high speeds, Popular model, Strong edgehold, Great value, Popular on mountain, Stiff, Well known brand
Other Thoughts: This board kicks some serious A all over the Mt. seriously...it kills! edge to edge there is no complaint, and the 159 under my 235 lbs. gave me the ability to butter up and have a playful board but still be able to lock into the stiffness when it was needed. Also if its a pow day set back and enjoy the ride cause your gonna kill it in the pow riding anywhere from trees to the wide open bowls.

Burton Custom X 158
Pros: The Burton Custom X is a great board to take all over the mountain. It holds an edge extremely well and allows you to ride with confidence. It is stiff enough that it has little to no chatter for those high speed runs. Thank goodness for the pressure distribution edges that Burton has incorporated into this board, that will give it that extra bit of ooommph when carving hard. But it also has a reasonable amount of flex (but not a significant amount) to perform a few tricks in the bag.
Cons: Perhaps I have not been able to ollie off this board with perfection yet, but I did find the pop in the Custom X a bit lacking, and it requires a bit more effort to get that extra height off the ground.
Other Thoughts: I found my Custom X 158 great to take in the pow and tree runs. It was the perfect length so that I would not wash out in those hard carves in the pow and was not too long nor difficult to maneuver in the glades. This is definitely not a freestyle/park board so if you're looking for a super soft board, look elsewhere. While attempting butters may require a bit more effort, this board can still do it all. The price of the board may seem a bit steep, but with price comes quality design and a great board to add to your quiver. There's a reason why a lot of pros ride this board.
