Built to withstand the torture kids dish out, the all-mountain Chopper features the quality and strength you'd expect from Burton, with a flex and shape that makes the learning curve look like a slingshot. From first turns to first powder day, first air to frontside 540s, ride the Chopper and leave all the ski-wee kids wishing they were snowboarding.

Question
I need help deciding on a size board for my son
-- He is 12 years old, weighs 80 pounds, and is about 58 inches tall--- Can anyone help?
---- yep
----- What would you suggest?
------ Now, can you tell me if there is a way to figure out length for a particular size person?
------- I am looking at snowboards for my niece also
-------- OK, that would be great!
--------- Thank you!
---------- I have another question, are you still there?
----------- What are the differences between men and youth sized boards?
------------ I noticed that there are small sized mens boards too
------------- that are telling me to buy a different length
-------------- than the youth size chart is
--------------- That is great. So I will probably go with 140ish, like you said. I think I am finished now, thanks again for your help!

Best Answer
yea still there?
-- id say something around 140ish
--- maybe a board like the custom smalls or operator smalls from burton
---- well mostly its based on weight
----- give me a sec and ill grab a link to our sizing chart
------ http://www.sierrasnowboard.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=11120
------- scroll down that page and you should find a chart with recommend sizing
-------- no worries. be sure to click "done with advice..." when finished
--------- yea
---------- well basically youth boards are softer- to compensate for lighter riders, and also more narrow for smaller feet. they are usually constructed with more simple materials and are therefore cheaper too
----------- but there are some youth boards that are basically mini clones of adult boards... such as the burton operator smalls and the custom smalls
------------ no problem
