Burton Cartel Snowboard Bindings 2010

This item is currently out of stock.

Sierra Says: The Cartel has been our best-selling binding for the past number of seasons and is the top choice for a majority of professional riders. This binding has a medium flex, super comfy gel ankle straps, and a ton of adjustments to ensure a premium fit. New for the 2010 season, the Cartel comes equipped with FullBED baseplate padding- a full coverage, cushioned platform that eats up impact and produces an overall more comfortable feel. The Cartel is a safe choice for any intermediate or advanced rider that needs something versatile and reliable.

Burton Says: There's a reason more pros, regardless of who's paying them, choose the Cartel. Simply put, it's got everything you could ask for- smoke-weight, diesel strength, and maxed out comfort in a shred-everything package. An ergonomically canted Team Skyback II and super-minimized Ultra Capstrap enhance control, while NEW FullBED cushioning and B3 Gel absorb negativity from harsh landings.

"Good Bindings.. especially if on sale" 3/3/2010
Helpful Review?   (4) Yes    (1) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Cartel
  • Pros:  capstrap holds foot securely to the heelcup, 3D straps are very comfortable.. no pinching, Good dampening
  • Cons:  hard to get them to fit the way I wanted, minor detail..see below, lost some board feel
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I rode these bindings for a good part of this season (09-10) and liked them quite a bit. Right out of the box they were a little stiff for my liking, but luckily after a few days of riding they got a nice broken-in feeling. The padding on the highback is soft and grippy and never felt like it was poking me through my boot. The grippy foam sure helped keep my boots planted and allowed me to press boxes/rails just as good as a binding with a winged back. The new full footbed is much much better than the older models lacking a true full footbed. I did have a few little problems though. The baseplates seemed to be a little rigid and I think that I lost some feel of the board directly below. Next, the highbacks and ankle strap seemed to be a pain to perfectly dial in to my boot/preferences.. this could just be me though, but with a average size foot (9-10) I didn't expect this. The only other problem was the edges of the little metal panels where the ankle straps bolt through the frame peeled up within two nights of riding.. poor adhesive I assume. Overall these are great bindings, just a little pricey for what you get in my opinion.. keep your eyes out for them on sale though.

Just ordered a pair of the 09's in magenta madness. Plan to pair them with the '10 Hero. Completely stoked to try them out this season. Did you try the est's? Interested to find out if all the hype is true...

"Great Binding!" 7/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Cartel
  • Pros:  Light, Cheap, Comfy
  • Cons:  Toe Strap,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Got these bindings on sale right before the 2009/2010 season was over. Had them shipped next day because I was going on a trip to Canada for the week. Got them on time, threw them on my board, messed with the adjustments a little bit and they fit awesome. Ankle strap is really comfortable. Only complaint is that the toe straps slides off sometimes, but I ended up just using like an old school tow strap instead of the around the tow new style.

"Flexable? check. Durable? check... oh wait everything on the list is covered" 5/27/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Cartel
  • Pros:  Flexy but at the same time..., Very responsive ,
  • Cons:  some people might want to steal them =/,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   Super light and responsive these bindings get it done wether you are charging those icy pipe walls or charging that air light substance known as fresh colarado pow they will take the feeling of the board directly to your brain for a noticable increase in performance. the only time i've ever seen anything bad about them was my friend tanked it into a snowmaking machine and hit his left binding on the metel and cracked the bindind. he still perfers them over his union force bindings though. all in all my favorite bindings by far, anyone else have an instance where they've cracked or broke?

"Very good but not exceptional" 5/8/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Cartel
  • Pros:  Padded footbed, Capstrap, Highly adjustable
  • Cons:  average build quality, too high highback,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   My first day was rough; the capstrap kept slipping off and my ankle strap was irritating the inside of my ankles. I probably had to make four or five adjustments over a couple of days before I got these all dialed in. Now I love them! The padded footbed is very nice with an adjustable gas pedal. The high is very high but not over my boots so I like it but it's also hard to fit in my snowboard bag. I got these from Sierra for 50% off. The build quality is good not great so if I had to pay $200+ then I probably would have purchased something else.

"Difference makers" 5/2/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Cartel
  • Pros:  Great Feel, Quality Build,

Experience:   Once again, you'll notice a difference the second you go down a mountain with these. You'll have better control of your board, and enjoy pulling off riskier maneuvers with these keeping your feet attached. Feels like they have a sturdy build, and the clips release extremely fluid and quickly.

"Wonderful Bindings" 12/23/2009
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (2) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Cartel
  • Pros:  Nice Flex, Holds feet in, Sweet features
  • Cons:  Broke but Burton replaced them,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I love these bindings. I am a park rider so I beat up my bindings. I have had these for a few years and they are wonderful. They have great flex and feel great. The toe caps make it very easy to do tricks and ride great. The only problem I had with these was when I was in the park one day. I landed a 540 and looked down and the base plate cracked but burton replaced it free of charge!
