Sierra Says: The most popular of the EST family, the Burton Cartel EST is the standard in all-mountain freestyle. This is the binding of choice for many pro riders and weekend warriors alike. The reason the Cartel EST is so widespread is because it blends the elements of performance, mobility, board feel, value, and comfort together and can compliment just about any Burton board featuring the Channel. We recommend the Cartel EST for the intermediate or advanced do-it-all rider with a Burton Channel snowboard.

Burton Says: A park slaying, pow slashing, cliff dropping, pipe smoking, muffin buttering, peak to parking lot tour de force- the Cartel EST is our most capable freestyle binding. Shredded daily by Jeremy, Heikki, Tadashi, Mason, and Kevin, it's no wonder this is the target every competitor is aiming for. With the comfort and control of an anatomical hi-back and added feel and cushioning of the NEW SensoryBED II, dreams don't get more real than this.

  • Pros:  Great adjustability, comfortable, great response

Experience:   Put them on my Custom and it was a great combo. Very light, and look great.Really responsive and great boot hold. I didn't even feel them on my feet, it was as if I was only standing on the board.

  • Name: 2010 Burton Cartel EST
  • Pros:  Light weight, Easy to adjust and attach, Great feel
  • Cons:  Price,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   I just spent a small fortune on these bad boys in black, would have loved the purps but they are impossible to find, im a size nine and with the width of my DC boots i fit snuggly into a small which saved me some cash, they are unbelievably easy to attch and modify til your hearts content, the cushioning is great when you dont land quite right and they weigh next to nothing, i am in love. The base feels excellent the cant bed offers great cushioning. Overall well worth the cash, and i feel like their helping me progress rapidly.

Experience:   Burton EST Cartel offer great support, style, better board feel and est technology. Everyone knows how mounting can be a big pain in the rear, the est technology makes the process so easy and you will get the outcome of a perfect stance.

"Sweet Bindings" 3/11/2010
Helpful Review?   (1) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2010 Burton Cartel EST
  • Pros:  ultra capstrap is great, Feel from EST is amazing, Ratchets are smooth and can really crank down
  • Cons:  Suede on white binding gets dirty,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   These are some of the sickest bindings I have ever used. Even though binding flex is preference, I felt that they were equally good for all mountain and park riding. The ratchets are smooth and very quality, there is hardly any pressure points and the straps are super comfortable. The EST, in my opinion, gives much more feel and damp; and set up for these bindings was incredibly easy. My only complaint about the bindings, which is only cosmetic, is that the white suede(on white bindings) seems to really attract dirt, but once again nothinig major. Overall these are some sweet bindings and I would recommend them to anyone who wants a great pair of mid flex bindings.

  • Pros:  adjustability, great feel, light
  • Cons:  N/A,
  • Flex:  mid

Experience:   buy em' up it's an awesome deal, not only for the price, but the quality is top notch. and they excel on it ALL. slightly stiff, but still feel pretty playful. i thought at first they were a bad choice due to a steep forward lean even after setting it as far back as it went. but i just rotated the sky backs to be parallel to my heel edge allowing flawless support when i called on it, yet out of the way otherwise, and with that not even there feel you cant go wrong.
