One of the biggest issues at resorts these days is having your board swiped. But with this, you can easily lock up your board and not have a worry while you're inside the lodge or at the bar.

Lock it up when boarding in the ghetto.
-Ride A Capita
- Clean low profile, easily stores in a pocket.
- 39" (1m) recoiling cable. The combo lock removes and can be used seperately.
- You can set your own 3 digit combination to make it easy to remember.
- This is the easiest way to lock up your board

"Good enough" 8/20/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Burton Board Lock
  • Pros:  It wards off any would-be theives.
  • Cons:  It's definitely not the strongest lock, but I'm never leaving my board out long enough for someone to come by with a hacksaw or pair of pliers anyway. I just need something to keep in my pack and use for grabbing a drink.

"Get something else that scissors can't cut through" 7/31/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Burton Board Lock
  • Cons:  The only way this stops a thief is if the sight of it makes them go to a different unlocked board. It can be cut through with a pair of scissors. So weak!

"its alright" 7/30/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Burton Board Lock
  • Pros:  its good for keeping the board safe for a little while, but i mean its pretty cheap...
  • Cons:  i mean its easy to "hack" and get the code because its only 3 numbers

Experience:   sure ppl could i get in it, but i mean if your just putting the board down for a little bit it should be fine, if someone was going to steal a board, and yours is next to a different board, yours being locked his not they will take theirs not yours... so its worth it..

"Dont waste your money" 7/28/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Burton Board Lock
  • Pros:  cheap
  • Cons:  everything. This lock is easily broken, lost, and above all too big for a pocket. A thief just needs some strong hands and arms to break it. And comes in two pieces, so if you loose one, your outta luck.

Experience:   Just buy a cable and master lock, will work just as good, and the cable may actually be scissor proof

Experience:   easily holds my board, ive locked as much as 2 boards and 2 or 3 pairs of skis with the cable. deters, but will not stop a thief with a strong pair of scissors

"OK" 7/28/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Burton Board Lock
  • Pros:  It is a good deterrent for thieves. Enough length for 2 boards.
  • Cons:  It is 2 pieces so if you lose 1 you are SOL. If someone wants to break the cable, they can.

Experience:   Boards get stolen. It sucks. People can break locks, but at least it is a deterrent.

  • Name: 2006 Burton Board Lock
  • Pros:  Can't think of any
  • Cons:  Far to big and cumbersome

Experience:   I actually looked at this but decided on a Kryponite M1 lock, only about as big as the palm of my hand... not a hassle to carry it about and board hasn't been nicked yet!

  • Cons:  It's so bulky. I always leave it at home. Hard to use.

Experience:   It's bigger than I Imagined it to be. It's really not worth buying because you don't want to be carrying around something this big if it doesn't get you drunk. I wasted my money..

"big things come in small packages" 2/24/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Burton Board Lock
  • Pros:  cheap, light, convenient, does the job
  • Cons:  light weight cable is easily cut.

Experience:   I picked this little lock up on sale and boy is it a good insurance item to have. Sure the cable can be cut, but if you want to steal a board are you going to bother having to whip out your leatherman or are you just going to grab an easy treat. Also on a totally different note, be careful leaving your board locked up for over one hour in cold snow conditions. I did this while eating lunch and the little combo discs almost froze in place. I could bare get then to spin to my set combination... boy that would have been embarrassing

  • Name: 2006 Burton Board Lock
  • Pros:  It does what it needs to do. I haven't had anything stolen yet.
  • Cons:  Wish the cable was a bit longer as right now I have a bit of trouble trying to secure my board to something.

Experience:   Couldn't someone just unscrew your bindings?

"There are much better locks for the money" 2/12/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Burton Board Lock
  • Pros:  So if what you want to do is just lock your board to the rack when you're out riding just for some peace of mind, then this lock will work. It's retractable so the cable won't get all tangled up in your pocket, and it's somewhat easy to use. It also lets you set your own combination (as most of these locks do). The cable length is decent.
  • Cons:  The lock is ginormous. See that little yellow thing in the middle of the "lock"? That part comes out and is the actual mechanism which lets you lock the two ends of the cable together. The rest of it is the giant cable retracting mechanism. The lock doesn't fit comfortably in my pocket and having the lock able to separate from the cable mechanism makes it easy to lose one piece or the other. Having to take out the center lock piece every time I want to lock my board is a big hassle.

Experience:   I actually bought one of the small dakine locks after being dissatisfied with this one. Those are much easier to use, more compact, and don't come in two pieces. Also, I somehow cut myself on the metal portion of the lock so be careful of sharp edges.

"Burton Board Lock" 1/21/2009
Helpful Review?   (0) Yes    (0) No

  • Name: 2006 Burton Board Lock
  • Pros:  Hopefully a lock is enough of a deterrent to thieves that they'll go for someone else's board instead of yours. It's also pretty easy to turn the combo and seems to snap open pretty easily once the combo is in. Easy to adjust the combo and it retracts pretty quick.
  • Cons:  The wire is pretty thin, so it probably could be cut rather easily. It is a bit bigger than it would need to be, but you can still carry it in your pocket without much concern. The biggest problem I have with this lock is that it's hard to detach the actually lock from the casing. Maybe it's just my fat fingers but when it's cold I have a hard time prying the lock from the casting that it snaps into.

Experience:   If someone really wanted your board they could still find a way to get it, but hopefully the lock is enough of a deterrent that somebody else's board is going to be snatched and not yours. This lock is cheap enough thou that why wouldn't you buy one?
