Sierra says:
The Encore has been a favorite of most customers for the past years because of the convenience of the boa system, and the comfort of the boot itself for such a great price. This year it has added more comfort and support with the new Trifit Asym-X thermal liner which can be heat molded for precise foot-to-boot fit. This boot has a soft/medium flex and is recommended for the progressing beginner to intermediate riders who like to take the whole mountain on one run at a time. Progressively stomp rail slides, launch kickers, ride the groomers or the backcountry and this boot will not let you down.

Vans says:
For its fifth season appearance, the Encore returns with a vengeance. Series 30 BOA components work in conjunction with the all-new Trifit Asym-X thermal liner and internal web harness to give you all the closure and support you could ever ask for. Throw that in with the comfort and cushioning of the Pro-Flex Snowaffle Air Sole, and you’ll wish the lifts kept running… and running… and running…

Currentyly Rock This Boot
Terrain Use: Jumps, Boxes and Rails, Speed, Carving, Backcountry, Groomers, All Mountain
Pros: Heel hold, Comfortable, Easy lacing, Durable, Traction, Good quality, Warm, Waterproofing, Easy in & out, Well known brand, Popular model
Cons: Non adjustable
Other Thoughts: I have had these for 3 seasons straight now, they are a great boot, they do become a little loose now and then but its easy to tighten them up with the boa lacing system, you should just check the boa circle before heading down a run, they also have kept my feet very warm, so overall this boot can be used for anyone intermediate to advanced and it will hold well for you

Great boot for a beginner wanting more for the buck
Terrain Use: Boxes and Rails, Groomers, All Mountain
Pros: Comfortable, Easy lacing, Good quality, Easy in & out, Well known brand, Popular model
Cons: Non adjustable, Uncomfortable
Other Thoughts: Boa system is not for everyone, some common issues is not able to be either fully tight in or a little too loose. Also because it doesn't use Vans top of the line boot liner, it will pack out a bit fast, so get it true to fit your foot size. Other than that, it's a good boot for a beginner looking for a boot that will give you a bang for that buck
