K2 Phat Luv Womens Skis

Here is another K2 that has been the sales leader in it’s category since it was introduced. The Phat Luv takes the middle ground in most of it’s characteristics with a great blend of width, flex, shape and weight to give women a Big Mountain ski with some potential for all around use. Among women’s specific skis this is one of the wider offerings and the flotation and soft snow performance is stellar. Despite the width, the Phat Luv is more nimble than one might expect and the overall feel is light and quick within the category. I test women’s skis every year and this year as in the past, I found the Phat luv to be better in powder and lighter crud than in heavy thick snow. A stiffer ski might outshine the Phat in that situation but would sacrifice much of the user-friendliness that characterizes the Phattie.
