Burton X8 ICS Snowboard
Item # : SS40197 |
Year : 2009
Sierra says: "Controlled by the park slayer, Tadashi Fuse, the X8 is a phenomenal park freestyle board. With the ICS system this board is more fun and fluid to ride on any transitions. The true twin shape makes riding switch easy and landing huge spins enjoyable. A skate-style park master that will progress even the best rider's skills to the next level."
Burton says: Extra-terrestrial park perfection. With Tadashi Fuse at the X8's controls, this future-shocked phenomenon rewrites the rules of what a freestyle board should ride like. Twin-tipped with a silky smooth flex and all the premium upgrades, the X8 unites skate-style fun with the speed, precision, and weight-savings expected of our highest-performance decks. The graphics transform as temperatures drop; while the Infinite Channel System opens your mind to unlimited stance possibilities. Terrain Uses

Burton X8 ICS Snowboard Reviews (4 total)1/1/2009 Graphics: awesome
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pros: Strong edgehold, Popular on mountain, Well known brand
11/24/2008 Graphics: ok
Award Nominations: Best Freestyle Board, Best Jibstick Board
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Terrain Use: Half Pipe, Jumps, Boxes and Rails, Speed, All Mountain
Pros: lightweight, Easy to carve, poppy, Soft
Other Thoughts: The board handles better than expected, I took it in everything from 2 feet of powder (it wasn't amazing but it did the job) to launching kickers. The board is soft but stomps landings and can be used anywhere. Some may disagree but after a season on it, I was impressed. $600 is high cost, but the topsheet changes color when it gets cold, so that has to count for something right?
11/13/2008 Graphics: sick
Award Nominations: Best Jibstick Board
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Terrain Use: Boxes and Rails
Pros: Durable, lightweight, poppy, Popular on mountain, Soft
Cons: Too soft
Other Thoughts: The ICS is great and this board is a dream in the park for jibs but that is where you want to leave this board. It is definitely not stable at high speeds and is too soft for going big. It is very overpriced for just being a park board. The living color is kinda cool though.
8/1/2008 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Pros: Nice jibbing deck, very soft, very light, can have a stance as wide as you want (measure max 26" with 155)
Cons: 600? kidding? Burton is out of his mind. Even with 550 it's an overpriced deck.
Top sheet easy to damage.
too soft, fail you while going fast.
not a powder deck
not a big air deck
only good for jibbing
