Jim Says: When I skied the TS 12, I compared the flex to the powerswitch version. I felt that the flex was about in the middle between the soft setting, and the stiff setting on the powerswitch version. The standard TS 12 is a little softer torsionally than the PowerSwitch version it is slightly lighter. I think it is a little bit more forgiving ski than the "Switch models". In fact, this version feels more like the AC-30/40 than it does the "Switch Sharks". The TS 12 has enough grip for almost anyone but is easier to ski off trail than the PS vesion. While this kind of ski is really a "wide carver" it has good application in shallow crud and is especially good in heavy, rough snow as long as it is not too deep. This is not a great powder ski and those looking for deep snow performance should look elsewhere. The TS 12 (IS) a great ski for a mostly groomer skier who wants a wider ski for occasional forays into softer on heavier snow. Despite the fairly wide waist, I categorize the TS 12 as a 70/30 ski with a little bias toward harder rather than softer snow. The TS 12 is a system ski that includes the IPT 12.0 piston binding from Marker. This has a 4-12 DIN range.
