Fischer Watea 94 ONLY Skis

Jim's Review:

There are not many skis this wide (94mm waist) that we rate as 50/50 skis. To us that means that ski is not a specialty powder tool but is very capable as a daily driver. The Watea is among the wider skis in this category yet it is very versatile and capable in a variety of conditions. I've had the 94 out twice this year in typical Sierra "day after" conditions and it is a superb choice. This ski chews chop and floats powder pretty well. This ski is not at it's best on groomers but it has pretty good edge grip and a smooth medium-long turn personality. Despite the width, the Watea doen't feel cumbersome except in moguls. It has a medium flex and is stable enough for me in a 178 in the context of everyday use. For a more dedicated off trail application or for big wide open mountains, I (might) think about the 185.
