2008 Fischer Watea 101 Skis

The 101 is biggest of the fine Watea series from Fischer. This ski has a similar feel to all the others in the series but of course, it's big.......really big. Despite the wide waist and the 192 length, this is not a difficult ski at all. I like the combination of a moderate flex ski in a long size. There is a lot to be said for a long platform in soft and especially rough and broken snow. As long you keep the longish turn radius in mind, this ski is't difficult to turn, but it does take it's time with direction changes. Smooth, stable, and omnipitent in crud provide the best description for the 101. Given the length, the 101 is best for a committed off trail skier who doesn't mind some speed in powder and crud. This is also a great choice for a heavier (225# or more) skier that wants a powder/big mountain ride but doesn't want to deal with the stiffness of most skis in this category.
